The Opportunity

As a Software Engineer at Adobe Workfront, you will work with your Engineering team and partner with Product Management to take ideas for Workfront products and turn them into realized features in our Work Automation Cloud platform in an Agile environment and estimate assigned work, create OO designs, provide task breakdowns and implement features and micro-services.

As a Sr. Computer Scientist, you are more than just a coder. In addition to your software engineering responsibilities, you are also expected to guide technical cross-team discussions and synthesize diverse points of view to deliver in multiple product areas, recommend improvements to our engineering practices, and help other specialists become more proficient in solving specific problems. What you'll do

  • Generate end-to-end solutions and pioneer groundbreaking ideas.
  • Summarize projects and suggest improvements on complex assignments to management.
  • Resolve system problems of high complexity and provide constructive criticism to improve system design.
  • Refactor complex and unreliable areas of the code to increase simplicity and long-term maintainability.
  • Model leadership behavior and help grow others' leadership behavior.
  • Show mastery in leading teams/initiatives.
  • Regularly share knowledge with peers both in and out of own team, mentor junior members.

What you need to succeed

  • 7+ years of strong experience building and maintaining high-complexity apps.
  • Have proven expertise in system design that has an impact on the fundamental architecture of the product.
  • Preferably a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science.
  • Expert in Java with a proven experience in JavaScript.
  • Expert in data technologies (RDBMS, MongoDB, Kafka, Elasticsearch).
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of other technologies in use (Kubernetes, Node.js, Docker, AWS, GCP, etc.).
  • Have outstanding experience in real-time or massively distributed systems.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of ownership for the entire SDLC; including QA, build, deployment, and support of production systems.
  • Independently fulfill tasks with limited structure and minimal direction from management.
