Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a qualified and motivated professional for the role of Principal/Senior Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist within the Restricted / Emerging Operating Unit at BWI in Linthicum, MD. The ideal candidate will have experience in supply chain management and/or related fields (including business and financial planning, contracts administration, project management, logistics, and manufacturing).

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Defines and develops material strategy
  • Responsible for the assessment of supply resources; aggregates and prioritizes demand requirements; plans inventory, distribution requirements, production, material and rough-cut capacity for all products
  • Participates in make/buy process, long-term capacity and resource planning; product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end-of-life management and product-line management
  • Analyzes and aggregates supply / demand requirements
  • Analyzes purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools
  • Plans inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements
  • Assesses rough-cut capacity for current and short-term manufacturing requirements
  • Creates/reduces supply requirements based on inventory adjustments
  • Participates in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins as well as existing product line phase-outs
  • Interfaces with Source process area regarding inventory levels, working capital and other areas as needed
  • Creates/releases requisitions
  • Receives/reviews requirements for non-standard parts
  • Analyzes lead times and identifies critical path procurements

Basic Qualifications Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist: 

  • Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of supply chain, general business, finance, or sales experience or master’s degree with 4+ years of supply chain, general business, finance, or sales experience 
  • Proficiency Microsoft Office Programs and SAP (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance (US Citizenship is required.)
  • Experience purchasing material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools
  • Experience managing suppliers through the following: cost/schedule/quality
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance

Basic Qualifications Senior Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist:

  • Same as Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist, plus:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Business discipline from an accredited university and 10+ years of subcontracts, supplier management, procurement or project management experience OR Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management with 8+ year experience
  • Working knowledge of FAR and DFARS regulations
  • Experience in proposal roles and responsibilities
  • Experience managing programs with earned Value (EV)
  • Experience with cost accounting management (CAM)

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings
  • Experience working with radar related technologies
  • Experience with forecasting material receipts and sales dollars into COGNOS
  • Currently have an active DoD security clearance

Salary Range: $84,600.00 - $127,000.00Salary Range 2: $104,900.00 - $157,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
