Reports To: Accounting Manager

Job Summary

Responsible for monthly close of books to include analyzing variances, full cycle accounting, identifying and researching missing components, balancing and reconciling forecasts, creating accruals, and preparing monthly forecasts. Independently manages Accounts Payable process and cycle from invoice receipt to cash payment in a high volume, multi-location environment. Essential duties and responsibilities, shown below, will vary accordingly based on assignment.

Salary range - $60,000 - $65,000 yearly

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for monthly close of books to include analyzing variances, identifying and researching missing components, balancing and reconciling forecasts, creating accruals, and preparing monthly forecasts.
  • Independently manages Accounts Payable process and cycle from invoice receipt to cash payment in a high volume, multi-location environment.
  • Performs invoice processing, auditing invoices, and reconciling statements to verify payments and identify savings opportunities.
  • Manages billing disputes and resolutions with vendors.
  • Expedites invoice payment and processing with A/P outsourcing company.
  • Communicates status and resolves issues to departmental IT management.
  • Creates and maintains invoice logs and vendor files.
  • Prepare requests for wire transfers and other payments.
  • Manages departmental Accounts Payable and purchase order processes to ensure compliance. Prepares documentation for audits.
  • Assist in the development of annual operating plan, forecasts and ad-hoc analysis.
  • Contract management experience a plus.

Qualifications/Required experience (may vary by level)

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline preferred. Working towards CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in related finance/accounting function.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in Corporate Environment preferred and positive attitude.
  • Experience with Car Rental or Travel Industry a plus.
  • Knowledge of AP/GL systems and posting procedures in an automated environment.
  • Requires excellent time management, planning, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Requires excellent analytical ability, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Strong research and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer including proficient knowledge of MS Office, GEAC/Oracle, Essbase.

Travel Requirements

  • Minimal travel required.
