Role Overview

Hillel International is seeking a passionate and driven marketing and fundraising professional with strong supervisory experience to serve as the Associate Director of Campus Marketing and Development. Through direct supervision and management, this professional will help oversee a fast-growing in-house consulting agency that provides marketing and direct fundraising services to more than 50 Hillels around the country, helping to ensure these Hillels have the resources to support tens of thousands of Jewish students across the US.

This position will be responsible for supervising the work of a group of 4-5 dedicated marketing professionals, building trusting and positive relationships with their campus clients, and ensuring key performance objectives are met and/or exceeded. Qualified candidates will have a strong digital marketing and fundraising background, superior writing and graphic design skills, and a proven track record of supervising and developing early- and mid-career professionals. Top candidates will also have significant experience with audience segmentation and CRM management, data analysis, and familiarity with executing lead generation and top-of-funnel marketing strategies.

This position reports to the Senior Director of Campus Marketing and Development, and is fully remote: We’re seeking the best, most qualified candidate based in the U.S. The salary range for this position is $75,000-$85,000 per year.

What You’ll Bring to the Position

  • 7-10 years of work experience, with the majority in marketing and/or fundraising
  • Demonstrated history of planning and executing successful digital and multichannel campaigns
  • Superior written communication skills; must be a highly skilled writer and editor across all channels and formats
  • Track record of successfully training and supervising early/mid-career professionals, helping them thrive professionally by developing their skill sets, nurturing their talent, and exceeding performance standards 
  • Experience with high-level client communications, including confidently and thoughtfully navigating challenging situations and conversations
  • Ability to think strategically and to plan two moves ahead at every juncture
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills; must be detail-oriented
  • Sophisticated understanding of audience segmentation and experience using Excel and/or similar tools to manipulate datasets
  • A commitment to data-informed decision-making and expertise in campaign analysis
  • Familiarity using and/or managing a database or CRM to build reports and/or segment audiences
  • Significant graphic design experience using Canva, the Adobe Suite, and/or similar software 
  • Passion for entrepreneurship, and pioneering and growing new projects
  • Insatiable intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn, grow, and develop new skills
  • Connection to Jewish life and/or Hillel

What You’ll Own

  • Provide direct supervision to 4-5 early/mid-career marketing and fundraising professionals, ensuring their success through weekly meetings, daily editorial support, bi-monthly performance check-ins, and frequent constructive feedback
  • Help professionals optimize campaigns for cadence, messaging, and segmentation to maximize revenue and gift counts for campus clients – oftentimes this means “rolling up your sleeves” to directly support content creation and campaign execution
  • Communicate expertly with campus clients to ensure their needs are being met
  • Drive fundraising results across the campus grassroots marketing and development program through fundraising campaigns that include donor analysis, careful attention to segmentation, and the deployment of strategic stewardship touches.
  • Support a standardized onboarding and training program for both new and returning professionals taking place each July and August, including leading training sessions
  • Help increase the planning capacity on the front end and the analysis on the back end of each campus affiliate’s annual campaign
  • Support program-wide analysis, including mid-year survey and reporting, as well as collecting end-of-year campaign data
