Sanofi Pasteur’s Global Transversal Operations function(GTO) is offering an intern position for a college student with interest in working in the field of laboratory automation. The intern position is located in Orlando, Florida within the Automation Center of Excellence team(ACE) and will last approximately 3 months between May and August. The ACE team provides global automation network support including the design and implementation of robotic platforms and data processing solutions to improve R&D scientists efficiency enabling them to focus on the science of developing, assessing and implementing new vaccines. The intern offers an array of opportunities working with a senior engineer on different projects and initiatives specific to the development, implementation, and programming of a robotic platforms for laboratory and data processing solutions. 

The intern position will serve as a support role in assisting a senior engineer in developing high throughput automated assays. Responsibilities will include executing a variety of tasks in the development of automated systems in biological research laboratory. Activities and learning experiences will include programming of liquid handlers and automation software, aiding in the development of automated methods, receiving training on automated equipment use, and a forum to presentation his or her work. The position will be opportunities in participating in developing and transferring automated methods to the project teams, assisting in performing automated experiments and processing data for the purposes of optimizing, improving, and troubleshooting automation equipment. Secondary responsibilities may include reviewing documentation supporting automation procedures and equipment maintenance and assisting in maintaining equipment.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or masters degree in Engineering, Biomedical Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal communication and writing skills
  • Flexibility and can-do attitude-- a desire to roll up your sleeves and get the job done, especially as a part of a tiny but mighty team
  • Demonstrated leadership experience strongly preferred, on or off campus
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Sanofi does not provide sponsorship for internship positions
  • Available to work full-time (40 hours per week), within the core business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm, for 10-12 weeks during the summer months
  • Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship with Sanofi
