In our Centre of Competence for Auxiliary Power Systems, we take a leading position in the design and development of auxiliary power converters and the associated electronic components for locomotives, high-speed trains, trams, buses and much more. To strengthen our motivated team, we are looking for a passionate Embedded Software Developer with expertise in the field of embedded software development and ideally railway technology.

Your responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the development of embedded Linux software across all phases of the lifecycle (specification, design, implementation, integration, verification and validation)
  • Embedded Linux target build
  • Cybersecurity management
  • Requirements analysis and requirements management
  • Development of software architectures and software design
  • Development of communication interfaces
  • Implementation of functional and acceptance tests
  • Implementation of code reviews
  • Support for internal and external partners
  • Documentation of the results

Your background

  • Completed studies in computer science, electrical engineering or a comparable education
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in the field of embedded Linux development
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity
  • Very good knowledge of high-level language programming (C/C++) and the use of scripting languages (e.g. Python, Lua, Bash)
  • Knowledge of Linux Targetbuild (Yocto, PTXDist) is an advantage
  • Knowledge of vulnerability and penetration testing is an advantage
  • Knowledge of bus systems and communication interfaces (CAN/CANopen, MVB, Ether-net) an advantage
  • Team and communication skills, quick comprehension, analytical thinking skills
  • German and English language skills
