A Day in the Life of our Interns: Land Surveyors take measurements and document features of the land on a project site. As a Survey Field Technician Intern, you’ll begin and end each day at our office in Omaha. You’ll receive your project and crew assignment each morning before heading out with experienced surveyors to complete the day’s work. Our surveyors work on many different types of surveys using a wide variety of equipment including Total Stations, Drones, 3D Scanners and more. As an Intern, you’ll gain experience by working hands-on with the crew every day.

A Typical Schedule Looks Like: During the Summer, a typical work week is Monday through Friday, with days beginning at 7:00 each morning. Plan to work up to 40 hours per week. We pride ourselves on being a flexible workplace that values all our team members and will work with you to accommodate family trips, camps, or other commitments you have.

You’ll be Successful Here When you: are willing to learn on the job every day and act as a good team member. We’ll help you build the skills necessary to complete your work assignments accurately.

You should wear: Clothing that is appropriate for the day’s weather forecast. Long pants and work boots are always required for safety reasons. Don’t have boots? No problem. We provide a stipend to our Interns to assist with this purchase. Clothing should be clean and in good repair. We’ll provide the hard hat, vest, and any other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) you need.

To Work here, you need: To be an active Avenue Scholar and at least 16 years or older by your start date. You’ll also need to pass a background and driving record check and have transportation to and from our office.

What you can expect from us: Work closely with talented professionals who will provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship during your time with Lamp Rynearson. Even when you’re working independently, you’ll never be on your own. You’ll build skills in completing various types of surveys by working with an experienced team. The data you collect in the field will help our team take community changing projects to the finish line.
