As a Senior Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within Consumer and Community Banking Home Lending Technology, you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery. Our Consumer & Community Banking Group depends on innovators like you to serve nearly 66 million consumers and over 4 million small businesses, municipalities and non-profits. You’ll support the delivery of award winning tools and services that cover everything to support Home Loan Advisors to originate home mortgages. The home lending technology team will support the integration of machine learning\artificial intelligence products to support efficient management of leads, applicants, and Chase customers.

  • Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives
  • Oversees decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
  • Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations
  • Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains
  • Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
  • Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Deep hands-on experience developing machine learning models and statistical learning models : Random Forest, Support Vector Machine and regression models
  • Experience in Deep Learning: DNN, CNN, RNN/LSTM, GAN or other auto encoder (AE)
  • Hands-on experience in projects using Python, Java and familiarity with basic data table operations (SQL, Hive, etc.)
  • Extensive experience with machine learning APIs and computational packages (TensorFlow, Theano, PyTorch, Keras, Scikit-Learn, NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, stats models)
  • Detail-oriented, curious, and motivated by complex analytical problems
  • Must have the ability to design or evaluate intrinsic and extrinsic metrics of your model’s performance which are aligned with business goals
  • Must be able to effectively communicate technical concepts and results to both technical and business audiences
  • Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
  • Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager
  • Practical cloud native experience

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • MS or PhD in a quantitative discipline, e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, Data Science
  • Experience working at code level
