The Plant Controller is a key member of the management team and is responsible for maximizing plant profitability. 

What you’ll do:

  • Maintains accurate records of all assets, liabilities and plant transactions in accordance with procedures and direction from the corporate controller’s office
  • Prepares and maintains cost standards for all products produced
  • Measures productivity savings
  • Forecasts manufacturing variances
  • Manages and coordinates the preparation of departmental and plant-wide budgets, forecasts and operating reports
  • Coordinates the preparation of the annual Capital Budget and related financial justification, expenditure control, and objective analysis
  • Adopts Corporate Accounting policies, practices and instructions for the plant accounting needs and control, complying with corporate practices
  • Ensures that all reports, accounting data and monthly closings are completed to meet Operations and Corporate due dates
  • Takes joint responsibility with the Plant Manager for the planning, taking, controlling and reporting physical inventory counts
  • Prepares financial justifications for capital requests
  • Works with the Team Leader in meeting all corporate reporting requirements.
  • Plays a key role in assisting Plant Management in driving productivity savings to budgeted commitments
  • Assists with internal/external audits
  • Performs other related duties as required

Who are we looking for?

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Four-year degree in related field – accounting preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing plant accounting and controlling.
  • Ability to collaborate and teamwork.
  • Good autonomy and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to travel occasionally if required.
  • Excellent communication skills, inter-personal skills, and ability to prioritize.

Preferred:

  • SAP knowledge
  • Certifications: CPA, CGMA or CMA
