Job Description

We are looking for a Technical Courseware Developer to join the Platform Training team within our greater New Initiatives team at Zscaler. This is a fast-growing organization within a fast growing company that provides education and enablement to our customers, partners and to the workforce of the future.

This is a highly consultative and collaborative role in which the Content Developer will consult with key stakeholders across the organization to identify customer education needs and develop engaging technical product training content that enables learners to effectively use Zscaler technology and ultimately meet their business goals with Zscaler.

This individual will become proficient with the technology they train on and a master of their audience, their goals, and their learning styles. Their content will tell a story with the learner as the central hero or heroine. By working both independently and as part of a team, the technical content developer must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines while consistently delivering high-quality work.

Office locations:

  • Employee can work from any of the Zscaler offices in India which are in Bangalore, Pune, Mohali. 

Duties

  • Develop engaging and effective learning experiences for administrators, engineers, and cybersecurity professionals
  • Build Instructor let material which includes but not limited to chapter slides, lab guides, lab setup documents, train-the-trainer collateral, instructor notes and study guides.
  • Collaborate with Instructional designers to provide demos, recorded lectures and assist in building and reviewing eLearning content
  • Proficient in Google suite, MS office, RISE, Articulate360 and Evolve tools for developing training content. 
  • Lead the learning experience design process with agile content development and iterative improvement
  • Interview stakeholders and end-users to understand learning goals
  • Research and explore new product features and capabilities
  • Build detailed skills profiles and learning objectives based on stakeholder needs
  • Produce course outlines to seek feedback early and often
  • Develop engaging, modular, and interactive learning content and work with learning design partner, as needed, to accelerate development
  • Work with subject matter experts to review and revise training content
  • Project manage content development projects
  • Communicate status effectively to leadership and stakeholders
  • Hold development team members and stakeholders accountable for deliverables 
  • Manage and communicate risks
  • Adjust scope or velocity to meet tight deadlines 
  • Help to configure and troubleshoot Zscaler virtual training environments
  • Develop written and practical certification exams
  • Support the configuration and administration of e-learning modules in the learning management system
  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of experience in a technical role with a security or networking SAAS product (network engineer, network administrator, professional services, support engineer, sales engineer) 
  • Additional 5 years of experience developing technical learning content
  • Ability to summarize and communicate complex ideas and clearly articulate business value with a good sense of how security software practitioners think, operate, and absorb information
  • Ability to tell a story that conveys the ‘why’ behind the ‘what’ 
  • Knowledge of basic sales methodology and how it applies to customer and partner audiences a plus
  • Proven ability to develop learning content for technical audiences (examples required upon request)
  • Working knowledge of cloud security and networking technologies
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud a plus
  • Proficiency with Articulate 360 a plus
  • A passion for learning and continuous self-improvement
  • A passion for teaching and helping others achieve their goals
