SENIOR BUYER - PROJECT BUYER

SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN – WORLD HEADQUARTERS

The role of Senior Buyer - Project Buyer is to be purchasing responsible in the New Program Introduction (NPI) project team and to support a successful launch of the project in line with purchasing strategies and project targets. This role works within Lear’s Thermal Comfort Solutions team within the Seating Division.

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

• Main purchasing representative in NPI projects to manage all relevant Purchasing KPIs, such as component target pricing, supplier sourcing, tooling kick offs and PPAP etc.
• Manage the sourcing of BOM components, including the implementation of the Category strategies in the projects and price negotiations
• Follow project plan to support PPAP and SOP timings set by project
• PUR interface in serial phase to continue all projects to manage relevant serial Purchasing KPIs
• Supports global Commodity buyers by local focus activities in case commodity specific footprint is regional
• Participates and represents Purchasing in Project Gate reviews
• Presents status on all Project Gate levels
• Manages Purchase orders (Serial BPOs and Spot POs) as requested by the business
• Supports VA/VE workshops and negotiation events

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word

Your Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of previous purchasing experience
• Automotive cross functional experience
• Ability to effectively communicate with cross functional teams and external stakeholders
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Bonus If You Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or a related Business field
• Master’s of Business Administration
• Previous SAP ERP experience
