Software Development Engineering - Sr Advisor II

What does a successful Senior Advisor of Application Development do at Fiserv?

Laser-focused on go-to-market solutions for Optis, our large-scale Issuer Solutions processing environment. Be experienced in a range of technologies who can work collaboratively across the organization. Work through complex problems to define solutions with tenacity and attention to detail. Interact at all levels of the organization with clients of leading financial institutions, product managers, and software engineers to envision, design, and build innovative products and technology solutions.

What you will do:

  • Thought leadership in the delivery of complex solutions encompassing multiple products and services, involving a clear strategy for product integration.
  • Influence product development senior management on enterprise-level technology roadmap strategy
  • Assist Product Leaders with technology aspects of business guidance, consultative direction, and knowledge development.
  • Develop client facing conceptual solutions along with owning the corresponding technology design specifications and other system-related information.
  • Maintain and/or quickly develop a detailed level of knowledge on company solutions, products, and services.
  • Engage extensively with development teams, related enterprise/software architects, business analysts, etc.
  • Apply extensive analytical skills to address the needs of corporate strategy, understand technology specifics, understand how different parts of the business operation are connected.

What you will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 20+ years of experience in large-scale IT system development, hands-on software development experience designing, writing, debugging, and testing.
  • Must have mainframe technology experience in MVS, CICS, Cobol, JCL, MQ that support large payment processer. 
  • Financial industry experience.
  • Mainframe experience on the OPTIS platform or similar
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, emotional intelligence, with the ability to listen, advise, empathize, and explain to varied audiences, at all levels.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to see the connections between layers of business operations.

What would be great to have:

  • Technical experience in DB2, relational data base.
  • Java or similar development experience.

This role is not eligible to be performed in Colorado, California, New York or Washington.
