THE ROLE: 

As Senior Financial Analyst, Forecasting, you will be responsible for compiling quarterly forecasts, performing financial analysis, preparing supporting schedules for various external and internal presentations, and assist with various IT projects and initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Forecasting, you will collaborate with multiple internal teams to drive forecasting processes and provide quantitative and qualitative financial decision support to our Executive Leadership Team. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO: 

  • Perform analysis on debt assumptions for the purpose of testing reasonability, documenting trend analysis, and verifying inputs.
  • Compile supporting schedules and perform variance analysis to prior forecast and year-over-year for various budget/forecast inputs.
  • Perform research for forecasting inputs, such as interest rates, as well as competitor, industry, and other information for investor presentation support.
  • Coordinate and liaise with cross-departmental internal teams.
  • Prepare ad hoc “what-if” scenarios and sensitivity analyses for management, as well as other functional teams.
  • Assist with various IT projects and initiatives.
  • Participate in special projects and take on other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in a Finance or Accounting function, preferably within a public company.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA or CFA) is preferred.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: 

  • Advanced Excel skills with experience in financial forecasting/modeling.
  • Experience working with accounting systems (e.g., JDE).
  • Strong accounting and finance knowledge; real estate industry knowledge is an asset.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to identify trends and troubleshoot errors.
  • Action orientated, proactive with a high degree of initiative.
  • Outstanding time management and organizational capabilities with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment, dealing with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Experience with REITs is considered an asset.
