Maverik is looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Clerk to be responsible for processing invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all vendors in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.

The Accounts Payable Clerk oversees the daily entry of invoices, reconciles invoices, maintains vendor relations, and manages paperwork.

What You’ll do as an Account Payable Clerk:

  • Accurate payment processing, including but not limited to verifying federal id numbers, scheduling and preparing check, resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation, ensuring credit is received for outstanding memos, issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments
  • Ensure proper supporting documentation (e.g., purchase order, approved and reconciled invoices/vendor statements, etc.) exists for all payments
  • Verify expense reports and audits the reports to ensure compliance with Travel & Entertainment policy
  • Assist with compliance of 1099 reporting and preparation
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

You’ll Be a Great Fit if you Have:

  • Some college-level work, with accounting courses and/or associates degree or equivalent training and/or experience
  • Knowledge of accounts payable functions, with experience with multiple systems highly valuable
  • Proficient skills in MS Office, specifically Excel, and experience with AP computer accounting applications
  • A track record of looking beyond the obvious to identify root causes & simplifying complicated processes finding ways to improve work processes
  • Demonstrated strong written & verbal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization
  • Skills in exercising initiative and sound judgment in decision making
