What’s in it for you? 

As an Employment Legal Counsel, you’ll join our growing Litigation Practice Group (LPG) within the EY General Counsel’s office. You will be an experienced employment lawyer who is commercially focused, capable of managing a varied workload and adept at collaborating with and providing strategic and practical employment law advice to senior stakeholders.

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing strategic legal advice on a range of employment matters to internal stakeholders.
  • Proactively identifying, discussing and acting on current and future risks.
  • Providing legal advice and input into employment policies, contracts, deeds and documentation relating to EY employees.
  • Reviewing and interpreting legislation and providing related advice.
  • Advising on employment law aspects of the Firm’s acquisitions, including managing employment due diligence.
  • Advising on and managing workplace investigations and complaints.
  • Advising on and representing the Firm in relation to employee claims such as general protection and unfair dismissal claims.

What we’re looking for

  • Between 5 and 8 years’ post admission experience as an employment lawyer, preferably with in-house experience.
  • Experience in contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
  • Ability to provide strategic commercial advice to stakeholders.
  • Highly developed communication, negotiation and drafting skills.
  • Creative thinker and pragmatic problem solver.
  • Significant experience in providing legal advice in relation to resolving employee disputes and conducting employment litigation.
