Job Summary:

The Move Coordinator position, within the Facilities Management Department, is responsible for coordinating relocations at the University of Colorado Denver Campus, Anschutz Medical Campus, and all associated leased properties in Colorado. 

This position is a supporting role working under the guidance of the Transition Project Manager to liaison between the CU programs/departments that are moving and the contracted move company, as well as other CU supporting departments such as OIT, locksmith, mail services, security badging, trades groups, contractors, architects, and project managers while protecting CU Denver I Anschutz Medical Campus interests and integrity by providing professional move management services in alignment with CU policies.

The Move Coordinator will coordinate multiple move projects at any one time ranging from single office moves to new building project relocations, major renovation projects, research laboratory moves, engineering laboratory moves, classrooms, clinics, furniture and equipment disposals, and other university relocation needs as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter and track work orders.
  • Respond to incoming email communications and move related work orders
  • Obtain and provide estimates for relocations and vendor moves
  • Review invoices for accuracy prior to payment processing for assigned move projects.
  • Maintain the Transition Project Management database.
  • Reference floor plans, architectural drawings, and walk move spaces to assess all equipment and move needs, including coordination of electrical verification and building utility installations (including gas, vacuum, CO2, data, etc.)
  • Continually communicate with multiple departments, contractors, and vendors to ensure the move project stays on task and within the projected time frame.
  • Attend and participate in planning, building construction/renovation, program/departmental, and remediation meetings.
  • During laboratory moves, plan for the preservation of valuable research samples while following safety policies for hazardous materials.
  • Track disposal requests, coordinate with vendors and ensure proper disposal protocols are followed 

Work Location:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of at least 1 day per week on campus at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus, and as needed at multiple locations in the Denver/Aurora area for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: 

Entry Professional Level: (Duties are performed with guidance and direction and are performed in a training and development capacity)

  • A bachelor’s degree in planning, business administration, public administration, facilities management, construction management, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.

Intermediate Professional Level:

  • A bachelor’s degree in planning, business administration, public administration, facilities management, construction management, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • 1-2 years of professional experience in a role that requires extensive organizational and time management skills in fields such as administration, architecture and design, project management, academics, or similar fields

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with EMS, Formstack, AutoCAD, Bluebeam or similar applications.
  • Experience working with floor plans and drawings.
  • Experience in furniture space planning and knowledge of building codes related to exiting.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be willing and able to travel to multiple campus locations and to lease space in the Denver Metro area.
  • Must possess and maintain a current, valid State of Colorado driver’s license or be able to obtain one within 30 days if hired.
  • Must have a car or be able to access a vehicle to travel to needed move locations. Employees will be reimbursed for mileage driven specifically for moves and/or move coordination meetings and walk-throughs.
  • Must be willing and able to adjust working schedule based on specific move needs. The normal expected schedule is Monday through Friday during campus business hours.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The salary ranges for this position have been established as:

Entry Level: $48,019 - $61,080

Intermediate Level: $52,256 - $70,000

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
