Staff Engineer - Manufacturing: Stryker Model Farm Road

(Permanent position)

Role Summary:

The Staff Manufacturing Engineer will provide advanced technical and engineering support to a project or function. This engineer will have the required engineering competencies and systems training to support a manufacturing area or project.

What you will do:

  • Drive improvements of the value stream metrics from an engineering perspective.
  • Technical and operational support to manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure quality of product as defined in appropriate product specifications.
  • Lead and participate in system and process troubleshooting using structured problem-solving methodology with support team members and with external agents.
  • Continuously improve the performance of the process.
  • Management of significant Engineering projects through PMO.
  • Provide Technical leadership from an engineering perspective.
  • Provide support to Process Development / Advanced Operations on technology development and application within the manufacturing process.
  • Engage in the implementation of lean manufacture within manufacturing.
  • Train and mentor Operators and Engineers.
  • Interface with Materials Science, Design and Quality Assurance departments to provide customer with a quality product in a timely manner.
  • Providing leadership, development and guidance for engineering Interns / Technicians / Engineers.

What you will need:

  • B.S in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline with 4 or more years’ experience or a related masters degree.
  • Proven track record of working in a team based environment.
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills - able to express ideas and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Be open minded with the ability to recognise good ideas.
  • Innovative thinker - should be able to envisage new and better ways of doing things.
  • Experience in executing complex problem solving techniques related to manufacturing/design technical issues. Good instincts and sound judg.
  • Excellent analytical skills, ability to plan, organise and implement concurrent tasks.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, product and process design.
  • Six Sigma green belt certification
  • Experience in Validation lifecycle
  • Experience in an FDA regulated or regulated industry beneficial.
  • High level of PC Skills required.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
