This job contributes to Starbucks success by providing "Best in class" strategic insight into growth strategies for new stores and leadership of strategy related to the existing store base within the Mid-Atlantic Region. This position will drive decisions that enhance the value of the portfolio.

As a Store Development Manager, you will… 

  • Develop a comprehensive market strategic plan that will create a robust pipeline which contributes to overall Company growth objectives. 
  • Manage a specific geography for all aspects of the store development process including touring markets, creating proformas, preparing Letters of Intent, negotiating leases, renewals, expansions, and potential closures. 
  • Collaborate across disciplines and lead real estate, construction, and design project teams to ensure Company objectives are consistently achieved. 
  • Demonstrate strong financial acumen regarding proformas, store P&Ls and development costs. 

Relationship and People Management

  • Highly effective communication skills and ability to influence internal and external partners. 
  • Ability to lead teams and partner development. 
  • Comfortable communicating at all levels of the organization. 
  • Comfortable providing coaching, feedback, and recognition. 
  • Real estate representative performance discussions and reviews. 

Project Management 

  • Strong project management skills. 
  • Ability to influence and meet project deliverables. 
  • Ability to understand and work within a project budget. 

Real Estate Knowledge 

  • Strong knowledge of real estate terms and concepts. 
  • Full understanding of industry and real estate best practices and standards. 
  • Able to lead all real estate activities in areas of responsibility. 

Store Development Knowledge 

  • Strategic planning experience. 
  • Understands store development cycle with fundamental understanding of construction and design. 
  • Strong business acumen and ability to apply store development planning principles. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Starbucks leasing requirements.

We’d love to hear from people with... 

  • Minimum of 5 years in Real Estate site selection for top level brands, retail experience preferred 
  • Minimum 5 years of financial planning and market analysis 
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Strong understanding of site planning and design
