Job Description

Razorfish is looking for a Sr. Communications Manager to join our growing corporate Marketing & Communications team!

Reporting to the Head of Communications, you will serve as our Public Relations Lead and primary external communications writer. You will partner closely with communications, marketing, and growth leaders at Razorfish, across the Publicis Digital Experience pillar, and in other areas of Publicis Groupe US to develop and execute external communications and media relations strategies designed to increase awareness, visibility, and perception of the Razorfish brand and ultimately drive positive impact for the business.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a hybrid role requiring onsite collaboration an average of 3 days/week. You must be local to one of the major Razorfish hubs and willing to commute to one of those offices on a regular basis. Preference will be given to candidates located in the metro New York City, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, Los Angeles, or San Francisco areas.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Execute media relations and public relations initiatives, ensuring the company's messaging is consistent, impactful, and aligned with both brand and values.
  • Build relationships with journalists at key media outlets and within priority coverage areas.
  • Create external communications materials including press releases, thought leadership articles, media pitches, and more.
  • Work with our external PR agency to delegate tasks and foster collaboration for the extended team.
  • Proactively develop newsworthy story angles to secure positive coverage for Razorfish that will help increase brand awareness and visibility.
  • Tie PR communications to company priorities and practices, earning media coverage that serves as credible, validating content that can be leveraged by those within the organization.
  • Stay current on global events, social and economic issues, and industry trends to identify risk and need for response as well as providing strategic counsel to leaders on related communication matters including crisis communications and reputation management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support joint projects and ensure consistent messaging.
  • Monitor and analyze media and industry trends to inform communications strategies, plans, and tactics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, or related field.
  • 7-9 years of prior professional experience working in media relations, public relations, corporate communications, or marketing communications, preferably within a complex, matrixed organization, consultancy, professional services, or advertising agency environment.
  • Prior experience cultivating positive relationships with journalists including identifying opportunities for coverage as well as pitching and placing stories in a variety of digital and traditional media outlets.
  • Outstanding written communication skills with an ability to tell meaningful, targeted stories and translate complex topics into simplified, consumable content for a wide range of audiences.
  • A highly analytical problem-solver with an ability to meet urgent deadlines, manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities, and stay focused, organized, and calm under pressure.

Compensation Range: $91,000 - $154,000 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
