Micron’s Global Communications team is seeking an experienced Director to lead its Corporate Communications team. This strategic function will play a central role in advancing and amplifying Micron’s corporate story to reach a broad audience that includes media, investors, customers, partners and talent.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader who has significant experience in developing and executing high-profile communications initiatives and is well-steeped in storytelling and corporate narrative development for global companies.

The Director, Corporate Communications will report to Micron’s head of Global Communications and collaborate closely with other Global Communications staff leads for product and technology, policy, crisis, and team member communications.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Drive communications strategy, planning, and proactive execution across a wide array of areas spanning but not limited to Micron business operations, sustainability, workforce and culture, and executive communications.
  • Lead a team of Corporate Communications professionals, providing strategic direction, delegating authority and prioritizing work; mentor and develop individual team members.
  • Lead disclosures and key moments, coordinated communications strategy, as well as business and vertical media engagement.
  • Lead budget and direct agency resources to deliver on targeted results aligned with business objectives.
  • Partner closely with peers and Corporate Marketing leads on social, web, and events teams.
  • Serve as a senior media advisor to the broader team.
  • Drive cohesive storylines through communications strategy.
  • Develop and advise on messaging and content, including press releases and blogs, to effectively engage and influence key audiences.
  • Lead strategic media engagement and prioritization, driving outreach that helps to shift perception in support of Micron’s brand strategy, and aligned with Micron’s corporate narratives.
  • Guide and mentor executives in preparation for media engagements.
  • Leverage and lead all aspects of media monitoring tools to drive insights, track metrics, and report on progress against goals on a quarterly basis.

Qualification and Education:

  • 10+ years of experience working in communications roles in the technology sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mass communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or related disciplines.
  • Strong discernment and a keen understanding of technology trends and the semiconductor industry.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering corporate global communications strategies and outstanding content creation.
  • Strong storytelling skills and the ability to drive thought leadership stories through earned media results.
  • Experience in financial, ESG, executive communications, as well as internal collaborator audiences.
  • Proven media relations network and capabilities.
  • Validated team management capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical, written and verbal business interpersonal skills.
  • Strong executive presence.
  • Proven track record to influence media, professionals, and senior leaders, and to navigate complexity.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with global collaborators and other functions in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Sound problem identification, judgment, resolution, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong desire and dedication to deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment with consistency, and steadfastly push self and others to innovate.
  • Ability to lead shifting priorities with agility and work well under pressure.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$175,000.00 - $306,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
