The Opportunity

Cornell University's IT division is seeking a skilled and dynamic senior-level PeopleSoft Developer to join our operations team. As a PeopleSoft Developer, you will be instrumental in advancing our enterprise solutions, focusing specifically on PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.   • Campus Impact:
  • Be a crucial player in supporting and enhancing PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, directly impacting the academic and administrative functions that drive Cornell's success.
  • Collaborate closely with diverse stakeholders across campus and our external hosting partners, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with the evolving needs of our dynamic community and turning their needs into scalable, efficient, and user-friendly solutions.
  • PeopleSoft Development:
  • Design, develop, and maintain PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, with a deep understanding of the application's architecture and modules.
  • Customize and extend PeopleSoft functionalities to meet specific campus requirements, ensuring optimal performance and user satisfaction.
  • Security Administration:
  • Safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of critical data by taking a lead role in security administration within the PeopleSoft environment.
  • Implement and manage robust security measures within PeopleSoft environments, including role-based access controls, data encryption, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Conduct regular security audits and collaborate with stakeholders to address and mitigate potential risks.
  • Integration and Interoperability:
  • Expertise in integrating PeopleSoft applications with external systems, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to design and implement integration solutions, adhering to industry standards.
  • Innovative Problem Resolution:
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, where every day brings new challenges and opportunities to showcase your problem-solving prowess.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring the continuous smooth operation of PeopleSoft applications.
  • Upgrades and Enhancements:
  • Lead and actively participate in PeopleSoft system upgrades, applying patches, fixes, remediations and new releases while ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with functional teams to analyze and implement enhancements, staying abreast of the latest PeopleSoft features and best practices.

What We Need

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years as a PeopleSoft Developer using v. 9.0 or above (v 9.2 is preferred), and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience working directly with Campus Solutions and in higher education, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience as a PeopleSoft Developer, with a focus on Campus Solutions.
  • Proficiency in PeopleTools, including Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Component Interface, and Integration Broker, and web services.
  • Strong understanding of PeopleSoft security administration, including permission lists, roles, and user profiles.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft upgrades, applying updates, patches, and managing version control.
  • Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts, particularly with Oracle databases.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Ability to work effectively with teams, including with our external hosting partner, and proven collaborative abilities (motivating, fostering teamwork, resolving conflict, collaborative problem solving) across organization boundaries and with business and technical groups at all levels.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
