Job Description

ICF is looking for an enthusiastic Data Scientist to join our team and help put smart data science at the heart of what we do. If you are Data Scientist interested in applying your expertise in text and data analytics in a consulting environment, then this may be the role for you.

HES a division of ICF is looking for a Data Scientist who is eager to use their data analytics skills at a high level. We are seeking confident, self-motivated individuals to conduct this valuable work in a fully remote capacity within the USA. This position is open to senior and principal level professionals depending on experience.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Create Dashboards using AWS QuickSight with both visuals (charts, graphs, etc...) as well as tables for end users to slice and dice data to gain insights to various business processes.
  • Demo work in both small and large virtual settings with clients and end users to obtain feedback on enhancing dashboards to meet business requirements.
  • Work within a SAFe scaled agile framework, collaborating with other data scientists, data engineers, quality engineers, business analyst and product owner to ensure solutions meet client needs with the highest quality.
  • Create and maintain datasets from disparate data sources and provide analysis thereof using SQL and QuickSight.
  • Balance technical data architecture and data flows with end user UX best practices.
  • Ability to tell stories with data, educate effectively, and instill confidence, motivating stakeholders to act on recommendations.
  • Engage with Data Engineering to build out next-level data infrastructure (DBT).
  • Participate in code reviews in GitHub and knowledge sharing, specifically when building solutions within a specific business domain that other team members may not work in.
  • Partner with customers, product owner, business analyst on gathering requirements or doing mockups of what a potential dashboard solution might look like.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and data engineers in the team and across the company.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years’ excellent problem-solving skills and end-to-end quantitative thinking.
  • 5 years’ experience in data & analytics projects using data applications to develop insights from large datasets; and handling large datasets.
  • 2 years’ experience working with tools like JIRA, GitHub, and Confluence.
  • 2 years’ experience with working on cloud platforms in AWS.
  • 2 years’ strong understanding of relational database and data warehousing concepts (e.g. OLAP, dimensional modeling.
  • 2 years’ experience with one or more statistical software and database management software packages (e.g. R, Python, and SAS).
  • 2 years’ experience with one or more analytical and visualization software packages (such as QuickSight, PowerBI, Tableau and GIS software).

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with data linking / advanced data management, combining data from different sources, automation, and deploying data science solutions at scale.
  • Experience in data organization, cleaning, treating, etc., a knowledge of version control and reproducibility.

Professional skills:

  • Good leadership and team-working skills.
  • Ability to self-organize, priorities and conduct research on multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • An ability to communicate and write clearly in English.
  • Prior experience in consulting or healthcare is an advantage but not essential.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$95,776.00 - $162,819.00
