Sensing, Modeling, and Simulation Engineer

The Opportunity:

As a leader in systems engineering with a concentration in space sensing applications of interest to national security, we’re looking for you to solve complex challenges and shape remote sensing applications by leading modeling and simulation efforts related to these important systems, including intelligence, weather satellites, and national defense platforms. Your customer will trust you to not only design and develop these systems, but also evolve them with advanced technology solutions. Share your expertise through leadership and mentoring, while broadening your skillset into areas like clutter management algorithms, tracking and typing, intermediate algorithms, high speed computing architectures, and human factors related to highly distributed Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) system design and operation. Grow your skills by merging systems engineering and software implementation with machine learning and AI to create advanced Sensing M&S solutions for the Enterprise. You Have: 

  • Experience with DoD MS&A systems and technologies
  • Knowledge of systems engineering processes and low-level programming languages such as C, C++, and 8086 Family Assembly
  • Ability to learn and use other languages such as Java or Python
  • Ability to design a representative of military Enterprise MS&A capabilities for sensing on-orbit assets
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience implementing highly distributed, highly parallel computing applications
  • Experience with Tactical and Strategic Remote Sensing Applications
  • Experience with Signal Processing Techniques
  • Master’s degree in a STEM field preferred; Doctorate degree in a STEM field a plus 
  • PMP Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $93,400.00 to $212,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
