The Rockefeller Foundation is seeking a Summer Associate or Intern for our Foundation Services team.

As a Summer Associate or Intern at The Rockefeller Foundation, you will have the chance to contribute to our initiatives through engaging, meaningful work assignments. 

Program Details

  • This position is open to undergraduate and graduate students.
  • A cover letter is required.
  • The 2024 summer program will run for 11 weeks from June – August 2024.
  • This position will be based in New York City and requires a hybrid work arrangement, working onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Pay Range: $25 - $35 hourly rate. This represents the present low and high end of the Foundation’s pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to experience. This is a non-exempt position and thus eligible for overtime pay. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Support the Facilities Director with the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Respond and follow up appropriately to reports of facilities issues and any email tickets.
  • Ensure cleanliness and presentability in public areas – including but not limited to reception, conference rooms, restrooms, and kitchen area.
  • Assist in maintenance inspections of facilities for safety hazards and regulation requirements.
  • Maintain and organize storage spaces and printer stations.
  • Assist with set up and clean up for client meetings, staff meetings, receptions, and special events - including catering and tables used for events.
  • Maintain facility-related spreadsheets and databases as needed.
  • Sort and distribute mail and deliver packages, as well as run errands, assist with pickups and deliveries, courier case documents, and ensure confidentiality of materials.
  • Assist with ordering, assembling, and moving office furniture as needed.
  • Provide general assistance to the Director of Facilities and Director of Events.

Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program in one of the following areas: Operations Management, Business, Non-Profit Management, or a related field. 
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively across diverse teams and with external partners.
  • High level of responsiveness and ability to manage deadlines. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills (both written and verbal) and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
  • Able to navigate ambiguity and handle emergent situations quickly and tactfully.
  • Must be a proactive self-starter. 
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. 
  • Committed to the mission of the Foundation.
