Job Description

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work out of their Fairfax, VA office in support of the United States Postal Service (USPS).

This is contingent upon contract award.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications
  • Supports and/or installs software applications/operating systems
  • Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software
  • Designs, plans, and coordinates work teams
  • Provides technical support to project team members

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Client requirements: A minimum of 10 years of professional service as a software engineer or similar role
  • Ability to analyze, design, build, test, implement, and maintain multiple integrations and provide defect resolution
  • Ability to build real-time streaming data pipelines using Kafka, Kubernetes, and/or APIs for multiple integrations
  • Experience with Java Spring Boot, Java, API experience, Kubernetes, GitHub, Kafka, Rancher, AFT, microservices, working knowledge of EDI (X12) data transfer formats
  • Experience with JFrog
  • Experience with modernizing legacy integrations
  • Experience in full software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Ability to provide leadership, create and share ideas, implement best practices, and assist the Postal Service organization by creating, advancing, and sharing cost-effective ideas to help revolutionize its business
  • Ability to interact and coordinate with others in a fast-paced environment
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • Must be able to obtain and keep a USPS Sensitive Clearance
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or have a Green Card and have been living in the U.S. for at least the last five years
  • Must not have traveled outside of the United States for more than 180 days in the last five years
  • The selected candidate for hire will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII and/or client requirements
