What will you do?

Azure Summit Technology is currently seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer. The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic, growing, cross-functional, and geographically distributed team. This position is located on-site at our facility in Fairfax, Virginia, with occasional overnight travel to our office in Melbourne, Florida and/or other locations as needed to support customer activities. Your future team has worked together to produce the following job description:

The selected candidate will design, develop, modify, integrate, and evaluate software for signals intelligence, radar, and communications systems. You will be instrumental in the software engineering of Java server applications using J2EE related technologies. Duties will include all aspects of software engineering, including requirements analysis and specification, software design, implementation and integration, testing, and installation.

Basic Requirements

  • US citizenship, due to nature of the work and contract requirement
  • Ability to obtain SECRET or TOP SECRET clearance, due to contract requirement
  • BS degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience developing, maintaining, and testing Java applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • TS/SCI Clearance
  • Strong code maintenance, debugging, and problem-solving skills
  • 10 or more years’ experience as a software engineer developing Java server applications using J2EE, EJB, JDBC or related technologies.
  • MS degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment with changing requirements.
  • Experience developing and maintaining full stack applications.
  • Experience writing Java EE software using technologies such as JSP, Servlets, Hibernate, SOAP, REST, JMX Beans, resource adapters, WAR and EAR deployments
  • Experience configuring and deploying applications onto JEE Application Servers such as JBoss and Jetty
  • Experience with implementing and integrating user authentication and authorization using Keycloak, LDAP, Active Directory and PKI certificates
  • Experience with generating and managing SSL certificates
  • Experience configuring Apache HTTP server conf files and reverse proxies
  • Experience with Oracle database installation, configuration along with database manipulation using SQL and PL/SQL
  • Experience with ESXi 6 and 7, VirtualBox, VMware Player, Vagrant, HashiCorp Packer, Ansible
  • Developing and integrating custom Ansible roles and collections
  • Understanding the workflows and tools available to build custom Vagrant boxes
  • Familiarity with git, JIRA, bitbucket, confluence, and Jenkins.
  • Gradle, Groovy, Ant, and/or Maven
  • Podman/docker containers, Kubernetes, etc.
  • Experience using one or more IDEs like Eclipse, IntelliJ, Netbeans, or VisualStudioCodeAzure
