We’re looking for a Manager, Policy, to join us in Brussels.

To support and develop the public policy function within the Corporate Affairs Team and to support the VP Public Policy. To follow EU & UK policy and legislative initiatives, building up and maintaining a network to stay informed and influence latest developments relevant to the company. To produce high quality briefing and reporting materials to inform senior management and relevant business units. To support the preparation of senior management participation in events and seminars. To contribute to LG thought leadership activities, to support the production of public policy studies. To support the coordination of the Public Policy agenda with the affiliate companies in Slovakia, Switzerland, Belgium, The Netherlands, the UK and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build on and deepen relationships with policy experts, internal teams, trade association and policy-makers.
  • Work closely with central and operations to develop and carry out the company’s view on upcoming legislative initiatives.
  • Advocate for policy changes that are good for our employees, customers and business generally.
  • Support preparation for key external events: conferences and bi-lateral meetings by contributing to setting priorities and agenda, coordinating organisational matters, preparing briefings, etc.
  • Company-wide policy coordination: contribute to the coordination of public policy priorities between the corporate organization and the affiliates, including the development of public policy campaigns on key projects.
  • Inform the business: contribute to regular and specific information to inform relevant business teams about new policies, legislation, events that impact the business
  • Manage the production of high-quality policy communications materials - in both substance and style - for internal and external use, including working with external consultants and relevant company departments.
  • Team coordination: communicate clearly and work closely with teams across the entire company and operations, based in different countries and time zones

Knowledge & Experience

Preferred education/ qualifications:

  • Relevant masters’ degree

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Relevant experience in a strategy/marketing/regulatory or public policy role
  • Solid understanding of present and forthcoming European regulatory framework in the context of telecoms and media preferably in combination with a good understanding of the regulatory environment of an EU Member state or UK
  • Strong interest in European public affairs
  • Strong grasp of technology and business trends in the telecoms and media industry
  • Understanding of the telecoms and media business advantageous

Skills and Abilities:

  • Fluency in written and spoken English and able to work on a day-to-day basis in English
  • Ability to work in other European languages would be an advantage • An action and result-oriented, pro-active team player
  • Excellent research skills
  • Project management skills involving tight timelines. • Flexible, resourceful self-starter, with strong oral and written communication and messaging skills
  • Comfortable working in a rapidly changing and dynamic environment
