Job Summary:

In Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) we integrate, verify, and validate our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work hand-in-hand with our customers.

Our Effectors team in Tucson, Arizona integrates hardware and software, develops test plans and procedures, debugs and evaluates system functions and interfaces, and verifies system requirements in support of final sell-off to the customer.

This position is an onsite role

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Support planning and execution of Integration, Verification, or Flight Test activities in our labs, in the field, or at a test range
  • Test event support activity may require travel, which is not expected to exceed 15%
  • Support qualification of our products
  • Support troubleshooting and failure data analyses, including root cause and corrective action processes and advanced use of lab or field test equipment
  • Complete and compile detailed performance evaluations, including the use of analysis tools, such as MATLAB
  • Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders

This position can be a Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate level intern based on the candidate's qualifications and standing as outlined below:

  • (Junior Technical or Administrative Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and classified as a Junior by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment
  • (Senior Technical or Administrative Intern)- must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and classified as a Senior by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment
  • (Post-Graduate Technical or Administrative Intern) - must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications You Must Have) by start of internship

Basic Qualifications:.

  • Must be a Junior or Senior, or enrolled in a Graduate Degree program by the start of summer 2024, in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline, such as Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
  • Experience with troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting, or as part of a hobby
  • Experience using standard test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, network analyzers and/or spectrum analyzers
  • Experience performing data analysis, using software applications such as MATLAB or Python
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US government issued security clearance is required. US citizenship is required, as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active and in-scope US security clearance of Secret or higher.
  • Prior internship experience in an engineering setting
  • Experience with or exposure to various military platforms for weapons conveyance, such as ships, ground combat systems, fixed and rotary wing aircraft
  • Experience with using telemetry data collection equipment to capture real time data and/or real time monitoring
  • Experience with electrical schematics, interface control documentation, and communications protocols

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
