POSITION SUMMARY

The Procurement Analyst EMEA will report to the Senior Manager, Procurement Data Analysis EMEA. The role assists in the day-to-day function of MIP Data Analytics and provides analytical, project management and administrative support to the Senior Manager. 

The role specifically provides support to MIP EMEA with financial analytic skills, preparation of presentations, reports and critiques and develop with the Senior Director Procurement EMEA, Senior Manager Procurement Data Analysis EMEA and relevant stakeholders Savings and Compliance metrics and reports to drive compliance in the cluster field operations. 

The role will also work with Marriott eProcurement Support team for automated reporting for the continent’s procurement activities. The role also performs other related tasks as assigned by management.

Success in this role requires interpersonal skills, a proven ability to analyze data and to be able to communicate information in an actionable manner, to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously, and a willingness to find innovative solutions to solve issues, create value, maximize growth, and improve procurement processes.

SCOPE

The Procurement Analyst provides support / is responsible for all related administrative duties to support MIP in product rebate statistics, compliance reports, savings/rebate reports to provide an overview of the MIP team performance and hotels. This will assist in further driving compliance in the field.

  • Location requirements: The Procurement Analyst is to be located at the Europe Office – Eschborn.
  • Language Requirements: High proficiency (speaking, reading, and writing) in English is required. 
  • Travel Requirements: There is an insert 5% business travel required. 

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

Project Management, Financial and Analytical support

  • Provide (Agile) Project Management tracking and coordination of Savings Projects and programs across EMEA to enhance cluster savings opportunities and efficiency. 
  • Coordinate assigned strategic projects and maintain adequate project tracking mechanisms and reports.
  • Assist with conducting process audits to ensure MIP governance standards are followed.
  • Conduct vendor audits on provided statistics, where applicable
  • Establish metrics and compliance reports under the guidance of Senior Manager Data Analysis with the relevant field operations stakeholders, streamline financial reporting amongst clusters and at continent level across EMEA
  • Establish automated reports based on eProcurement system and where not available work with cluster leaders and director of field operations to establish interim manual reporting tools.
  • Support with and report on Invoice generation for OS&E projects and vendor rebates.
  • Support with processing departmental finance charge outs.
  • Support with department P&L review, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Communicate with relevant internal and external financial auditors on auditable data and reports 

Other duties

  • Support continuous improvement and effectiveness of BGate/STACY, provide training and information to the team 
  • Maintain and audit centrally held contract & spend data being held in BGate/STACY/Birchstreet for MIP EMEA
  • Assist with ad-hoc design and preparation of statistical reports and presentations as required.
  • Perform Data Collection activities from cluster/property level to assess financial/spend data and drive improvement in data quality
  • Create and maintain shared folders and team performance tracking documents.
  • Compose, produce, and sign correspondence on routine matters – with specific permission, sign for managers and release.
  • Coordination activities for various meetings, trainings, conferences when tasked by management. 
  • Coach and guide cluster procurement leaders on data quality, savings submissions guidelines.
  • Communicates with property associates to provide information and resolve challenges when required.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by management.

CANDIDATE PROFILE - KEY TALENTS AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED

REQUIRED:

  • Strong written communication skills and ability to consolidate and/or write content (English)
  • Previous background in project coordination/management, ideally with agile projects; experienced professionals with relevant industry experience are also encouraged to apply
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with BI (Business Intelligence) Tools
  • Highly proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Pro-active approach to tasks and duties and able to prove their work using own initiative
  • Ability to effectively communicate with hotels, relevant stake holders and co-workers. 
  • Flexibility dependent on business needs
  • Understanding of Financial Statements, Reporting standards

PREFERRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Ability to grasp concepts and understand requirements quickly
  • Experience with coordinating or leading projects to completion
  • Strong customer development and relationship management skills
  • Ability to design and implement successful tracking of documents and spreadsheets.

Education and Professional Certification:

  • Excellent level of English essential (verbal and written)
  • Relevant industry experience demonstrating proficiency in required skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools
