How You Will Contribute

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is looking for a graduate student to fill a summer fellowship with a focus on American silver supported by the Center for American Art.

Specifically, you will:

The Summer Silver Fellow will be chosen to assist the Curator of American Decorative Arts in the Museum’s Department of American Art, contributing to ongoing research and writing in preparation for the forthcoming catalogue of the Museum’s American silver collection.

Your background and experience include:

Graduate students in art history or related fields with an interest in American arts are encouraged to apply.

Position and Compensation Details

  • This is a stipend position of $4,000
  • This position reports to The H. Richard Dietrich, Jr., Curator of American Decorative Arts
  • This is a 10-week term position slated between June 1st and August 31st, 2024
  • Physical requirements:
  • Able to remain stationary for extended periods of time, to utilize computers and other office equipment required of this job, to perform physically administrative duties in a typical interior office environment, gallery, or exhibit space, and to access most public and staff areas of the museum campus
  • COVID-19 vaccination required.
  • Background check required after a conditional job offer is made. Consideration of the background check will be tailored to the requirements of the job.
