Title: Program Officer Event Administration

Location: Worldwide, remote

Reports to: Manager, Events and External Initiatives

The Opportunity. 

With the rapid growth in carbon markets Verra is engaging with stakeholders at an increasing number of events and is seeking a Program Officer Event Administration to support the coordination of this engagement. As part of Verra’s event team you will take care of event administration and operations, ensuring Verra’s participation at events is well planned and coordinated. 

The Role.

  • Work with staff members to facilitate their attendance at an upcoming event, facilitating their registrations and managing their information needs.
  • Collaborate closely with event organizers to arrange Verra's participation in events.
  • Handle incoming email queries, gathering information and responding proactively.
  • Update existing event management tools and records on an ongoing basis.
  • Coordinate logistics of Verra's presence at large events, including researching venues, receiving quotations, and organizing contracts for services and accommodation, handling nominations and registrations.
  • Contribute to organizational efforts to communicate Verra's participation in events on the website, social media, newsletters and media engagement.

Our Team.

  • The small Events team is part of the Legal, Policy and Markets team and collaborates closely with many other teams internally, as well as externally with stakeholders organizing events or panels, webinars and podcasts. 
  • As the Program Officer, Event Administration, you will collaborate cross-departmentally with your colleagues in Finance, departmental Administrators, Communications, as well as other teams in Verra’s technical work areas on organizational matters and to ensure well-organized and coordinated event participation.

What we’d like to see.

  • 3+ years of relevant professional work experience in administration, ideally organizing events or conferences and engaging with stakeholders.
  • Passion for and knowledge of environmental and sustainable development issues and interest to learn about the voluntary carbon market and Verra’s work areas.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize, and work efficiently and effectively within short timeframes.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as taking responsibility for work processes, working proactively and delivering results. 
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and capability of maintaining a professional approach and demeanor in internal and external settings, providing support and guidance to other Verra team members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in English is critical.

The final compensation offered will be contingent upon role, level, and location. Our Talent team can share the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Salary is one component of Verra’s total compensation package which also includes:
