We are inviting applications for the role of Senior Manager-Aircraft Engine - Repair Engineering (DR (Departure Record), RDR (Repair Development Request) & RSS (Repair Source Substantiation))

In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining aircraft engines' departure records, developing, and managing repair requests for aviation engines, evaluating and substantiating repair sources for aviation engine repairs.

Responsibilities:

  • Job Description: Lead and support, all Aircraft Engine repairs and maintenance ensuring the tasks are completed according to aviation regulations and industry standards, work closely with maintenance teams, engineers, and suppliers to ensure efficient and effective repair solutions are implemented in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Key Responsibilities

o Develop Repairs for Commercial Engines, Modules and Components, in order to achieve the objectives of maintenance cost, performance and life

o Identify and develop new repair technologies and creative application of existing, to address business needs;

o Define and coordinate the substantiation activities (design, analysis, testing, etc…) needed to demonstrate airworthiness of serviceable or repaired components;

o Ownership of Technical Publications relevant to engines, components or Sub-assembly

o Use of design tools: 2D / 3D CAD as Unigraphics, and in-house SW’s

o Use of Tech Pubs creation/editing tools

o Analyze and interpret technical data, maintenance logs, and maintenance records to determine the required repairs and maintenance tasks.

o Collaborate with aircraft maintenance teams and engineers to develop repair process.

o Conduct research and analysis to identify suitable repair techniques, materials, and equipment.

o Collaborate with internal teams to provide technical guidance and support during the repair process.

o Document all repair development activities, including repair specifications, procedures, and outcomes.

o Stay updated with the latest advancements in aviation engine repair techniques, materials, and regulations.

o Provide feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement of repair processes and procedures.

o Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during the repair process. Conduct post-repair evaluations to assess the effectiveness and longevity of repair solutions.

o Conduct technical analysis and substantiation of repair sources to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

o Collaborate with regulatory authorities to obtain necessary approvals and certifications for repair sources.

o Perform risk assessments and evaluations to determine the suitability and reliability of repair procedures.

o Document and maintain detailed records of all repair source evaluations, substantiations, and approvals.

o Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills related to aviation engine repair and maintenance.

o Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing engine issues and failures.

o Author / define repair tasks, including substantiation as a Competent Author (CA).

o Should be able to choose a Repair Technique based on different Damages and elaborate on Advantages and Disadvantages of that chosen Repair Technique.

o Should be able to write a detailed procedure/steps on each Repair Technique and explain the use of each Step.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors/ Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Sense of ownership, attitude for collaboration, proactivity
  • Good technical skills
  • Good interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
  • Clear thinking and diligent approach

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certification in aviation engine maintenance and repair.
  • Prior experience in aviation engine repair and maintenance.
  • Proficient in interpreting technical data, maintenance records, and engineering drawings – CAD
  • Experience and knowledge in FEA, Stress analysis activities.
  • Strong knowledge of aviation regulations and industry standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to perform accurate inspections and repairs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in using computerized systems and software for documenting and tracking repair activities.
  • Curiosity and passion for in service aviation engines
  • Good materials and special processes knowledge
  • Previous experience in Aerospace Design
