Job Overview:

As a Planning Manager in our cable manufacturing facility, you will play a crucial role in orchestrating and optimizing the production planning processes to meet customer demand efficiently. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive production plans, ensuring seamless coordination across various departments, and contributing to the overall success of our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning:

Develop and execute production plans to meet customer demand, considering production capacity, resource availability, and inventory levels. Collaborate with sales, and production teams to gather demand forecasts and align production schedules accordingly.

Capacity Optimization:

Assess manufacturing capacity and optimize production schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.

Identify and address bottlenecks in the production process to ensure optimal resource utilization.

Inventory Management:

Implement effective inventory control measures to maintain optimal stock levels.

Work closely with the procurement team to coordinate raw material availability and prevent shortages or excess stock.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Foster collaboration between planning, production, procurement, and logistics teams to streamline workflows and improve overall supply chain efficiency.

Participate in regular meetings with different departments to ensure alignment on production plans and priorities.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process improvement in production planning and implement best practices to enhance overall operational efficiency.

Regularly review and refine planning procedures to adapt to changing business needs.

Performance Monitoring:

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of production plans.

Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Communication:

Communicate production schedules, priorities, and changes effectively to all relevant stakeholders.

Provide regular updates to senior management on production planning performance and key initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.

Proven experience in production planning and scheduling within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the cable or electrical industry.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments.

Proficiency in using planning and ERP software like SAP or similar systems is advantageous.

Leadership qualities with the ability to lead and motivate a cross-functional team.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
