Description

Job Purpose

The Financial Controller, is servicing our clients and either our Fund and Asset Management with fund and asset models, plans and budgets, internal and external reports, performance measurements, analysis and control (actual vs. plan), and risk controlling.

Key Accountabilities 

  • Manage and take ownership of a portfolio of entities, be a key contact to the stakeholders;
  • Monitor deliverables by external service providers, mainly Corporate Managers (CM) and Property Managers (PM) for your scope of entities. Including managing the flow of information between service providers and Accounting teams, critical review of financial reports, implement standard reporting templates, manage reporting services such as budgeting processes, cash requirements and forecasting;
  • Review of annual, semi-annual, quarterly, or monthly reporting (incl. regulatory reporting) prepared by the CM or PM;
  • Preparation of periodic mandatory reporting for the Dutch Central Bank (DNB);
  • Coordination, support and communication around the (semi-)annual audit by the external auditor;
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely productions by external service providers (Corporate Manager, Property Manager and Tax Advisor);
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing and payment of invoices, tax payments or transaction related payments;
  • Monitor asset level performance (variance actual vs budget, asset performance, capex monitoring, rent arrears etc) if required;
  • Perform portfolio and risk controlling at fund level, risk ratio and investment guideline monitoring if required
  • Participate in transversal projects if requested and perform other tasks and projects as assigned from time to time;
  • Reinforce sound and effective risk management in line with the Risk and Compliance Objectives & Measures Framework.

Qualifications

Role Requirements 

Education/Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Business Administration (Finance or Real Estate)

Experience

  • Accounting, qualification ideally within an operational/financial reporting role, with exposure to/understanding of Real Estate
  • Audit, financial control, or Middle Office
  • Affinity with Real Estate, Asset Management and/or Project Management is a plus

Knowledge and Skills

  • Confident use of IT (especially advanced Excel),
  • Excellent communication skills (team spirit / flexibility), reliability
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written Dutch
  • Fluent in spoken and written English

  • Rigorous, self-starter with capacity to take the initiative
