Senior Software Architect – Positioning Software Department

Join our team at Philips Healthcare as a Senior Software Architect for the Positioning Software Department. Take on the challenge of driving modular software architecture, leading concept studies, and influencing the development of cutting-edge technologies for the robotic subsystems of our interventional X-ray systems.

Your role:

  • You make a substantial contribution to the innovation of our clinical products. You will support developing new clinical products & supporting platforms, using latest software technologies and resources. You are a self-starter, quality minded, results-driven, working accurate and as team player striving for continuous improvement on process and tooling.
  • You lead, define and steer the SW-technical roadmap in alignment with the technology roadmap (e.g. Model driven development, Operating systems, EtherCAT, etc.) and application trends.
  • You guard consistency in design choices, budgeting of shared resources, manage SW interfaces across projects and become responsible for the implementation of the architecture in modular easy to maintain and extendible parts (components and modules).
  • Your become part of an extremely driven International cross-functional R&D team of the business unit Image Guided Therapy Systems R&D. Your local team is in Best (Eindhoven North), The Netherlands, and you will collaborate with other software teams globally. Thereby making it a multidisciplinary international endeavor, where flexibility is key.
  • The Positioning Software Department consists of 35-40 highly educated software engineers responsible for developing the robotic subsystems of our interventional X-ray systems.

You're the right fit if:

  • At least a master’s degree in SW Engineering, Informatics, Computer Science or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience in real-time embedded software development, and at least 3 years of experience as a Software Architect in leading multiple SW Teams.
  • Good abstraction skills and keep the high-level overview, you are not afraid to dig into the details, analyze, and solve issues when needed.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, as well in creating clear architectural overviews and roadmaps. You can bring your point across to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Respected for being hands-on and fully up to speed with modern SW technologies (e.g. newest C++ versions, DSL, Coco, Linux).
  • You’ll get bonus points for:
  • Experience in a mechatronics environment.
  • Experience in a regulated environment.
