Responsibilities

We seek applicants who are highly experienced in the areas of:

  • Embedded software development on ARM processors, low power microcontrollers, C/C++, RTOS, embedded Linux
  • Hardware interfaces and driver development
  • Communication protocols such as I2C, BLE, SPI, Serial, USB, TCP/IP and Wi-Fi
  • C#, Java or Android development experience is an added plus
  • Open source software with emphasis on modularity, extensibility and reuse
  • Thorough understanding of the product development and engineering project management process
  • Compilers, make files, linker scripts, in-circuit emulators, JTAG debuggers, and laboratory test equipment such as logical analyzers and oscilloscopes
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Demonstrated success in technical decision making in a matrix environment

The candidate will work with Draper’s Embedded Software Group with the focus on low-power sensor systems, multi-processor complex embedded software systems. Domain includes imaging, GPS, cellular,

guidance, navigation, control and mapping systems. The selected candidate will work in a small team to map customer needs into a software solution using a combination of custom, commercial and open source software.

An ability to work with customers to define requirements and implement them efficiently is required.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 0-3 year experience in software development.
  • U.S Citizenship is a pre-requisite.

Security Requirement: 

Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a government U.S. security clearance.
