Data Integration Analyst

Position Summary

At Stony Brook Medicine, the Data Integration Analyst is responsible for the on-going support of our Health Information Exchange (HIE) for sharing patient data, specifically this includes working with our Cerner HIE, Regional Health Information Organization, and OpenLink interface engine Teams for data mapping, normalization and quality assurance. This Data Integration Analyst will report directly to the Director of Patient Engaging Technologies and Health Information Exchange. Job duties include working with Stony Brook Medicine (SBM) staff and connecting all its entities such as hospitals, clinics and ambulatory practices. May also include entities such as Behavior Health, Home Care, Nursing Facilities, etc. that are affiliates for SBM. 

Duties of a Data Integration Analyst may include the following but are not limited to:

  • Testing and Analysis of the Stony Brook’s Private HIE using Cerner Clinical Exchange Platform framework.
  • Working with RHIO and Openlink Interface Engine Staff for testing messages delivery to various platforms.
  • Analysis of existing HIE configuration to support addition of new features being implemented, customer enhancements, internal and external upgrades, ongoing ambulatory EMR rollouts.
  • Unit testing of entire HIE as required for deployment of new installs, upgrades and customer specific enhancements.
  • Documentation of patient data interfaced for HIE and RHIO configuration across the Health System.
  • Issue tracking, follow up and resolution.
  • Providing production support for escalated issues.
  • Working closely with Cerner, RHIO and OpenLink technical analysts and project managers to facilitate the implementation that meets needs and timelines.
  • Supporting customer calls on various projects at different stages.
  • Provide backup of team for applications supported in the Patient Engagement Department, such as the Patient Portal.

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Bachelor Degree in Applied Health Informatics or Computer Science or equivalent degree. 
  • 2-3 years’ experience in Information Technology. 
  • Technical and analytic background. 
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution. 
  • Analytical and problem solving skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

Preferred: 

  • Healthcare background/experience. 
  • Experience with Cerner solutions. 
  • Openlink experience. 
  • Health Information Exchange experience.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as - $70,390-$80,856. 

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents SBUH’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

In addition, all UUP positions have an additional $3,087 for location,
