Position Summary

What you can expect in this position: Under the direction of the Manager/Supervisor, performs assigned tasks and/or projects related to the area-specific internship. The Continuous Improvement Internship focuses on planning and achieving organizational initiatives, the basics of project management and cross-functional teamwork and providing analytic support for good financial stewardship. This internship provides the opportunity to learn how to develop goals, plans, and operational metrics for continuous improvement for operational departments, how to investigate new methodologies to advance a continuous improvement culture, and how to facilitate leadership teams on strategic planning initiatives. Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and analyzes continuous improvement project plans, including goal setting, identifying key milestones, acquiring support if needed, and defining success measurements
  • Coordinates outreach and relationship building with key stakeholders
  • Participate in cross functional CapStone Intern Project with report out to Executive Leadership.
  • Maintains effective communication with internal and external stakeholder via email, phone and in person meetings.
  • Participate and contribute to department meetings, execute on goals and objectives to deliver outstanding results.
  • Assists with special projects as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification
  • Understands and performs in accordance with all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Complies with all standard operating policies and procedures

Qualifications

Education

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university program in a related field of the internship required

Experience

  • Completed a minimum of 2 years in college/university in a related field of study for the internship preferred
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Effective communication skills preferred
  • Ability to be customer-focused and follow through on requests promptly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills preferred
  • Ability to quickly and accurately understand instructions and then work independently on assignments preferred
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately preferred
  • Demonstrates keen attention to detail preferred

Tools and Technology

  • Personal and Network Computer preferred
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) preferred
  • Printer, fax, and copy machines preferred
  • Multiple phone lines preferred

When you will work?

  • This is a full-time, 40 hour per week internship, working Monday-Friday. The internship will begin on June 3rd. Our 10 - week summer internships are designed to provide hands-on, project-based experience in various areas of our business.
