  • This position is located in our Westlake, OH office but eligible for a hybrid work from home schedule. 

JOB OVERVIEW

The Content Marketing Specialist will write and edit marketing content that advances prospects through the sales funnel, as well as other external and internal communications for the company. The copy may include marketing campaigns, client and prospect emails, direct mail, statement inserts, educational materials, marketing collateral, promotions, press releases, and web content/blog. The Content Marketing Specialist plans and writes engaging content for a range of audiences while maintaining a consistent brand voice.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Know the different audiences/personas of each brand in order to write effective, valuable content with appropriate tone and brand voice
  • Collaborate with the Senior Content Strategist to generate ideas and create informative, engaging copy for all media types including but not limited to: blog, social media, client and prospect newsletters, articles, emails, website content, collateral, case studies/testimonials, flyers, and related materials as requested
  • Utilize generative AI tools to help ideate, iterate, and scale content
  • Implement basic SEO principles in web content – including creating new content and updating/optimizing existing web copy - to improve online visibility and attract a wider audience
  • Work with the Marketing Engagement Team to map and optimize each audience content journey, online and offline, from top of funnel to client experience
  • Collaborate and participate in developing of marketing campaigns and individual creative pieces to create the most effective messaging
  • Proofread/edit new marketing materials created by colleagues to ensure integrity of materials, quality of content produced, consistent brand messaging, and proper tone/voice
  • Proofread/edit/update existing written materials – including but not limited to collateral, emails, and website copy – to ensure integrity of materials, quality of content produced, consistent brand messaging, and proper tone/voice
  • Work with the internal Compliance department to ensure marketing materials meet company and industry regulatory standards
  • Aid in branding strategy for new company products or services
  • Create and edit educational and promotional content for audiences related to the company’s B2B divisions
  • Understand Equity Trust products/services and the financial services/retirement industry as a whole
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, or related field required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in business communications and content creation required, financial services industry preferred
  • Proficiency in creating compelling and engaging content for various channels (web, social media, print, email, etc.)
  • Experience with crafting clear and concise messages tailored to different audiences
  • Excellent grammar and proofreading skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail

TECHNICAL SKILLS

To be successful in this role, you should have experience with and an understanding of the following:

  • Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress)
  • Bulk email sending applications (e.g., Pardot, Marketo, Constant Contact, Mailchimp, etc.)
  • Google Analytics
  • Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Midjourney, etc.)

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to speak and hear. The associate is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. This job requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
