The Manager, Projects & Design – Asia Pacific excluding China (APACx) reports to the Senior Director, Projects & Design, and is responsible for the management of project stakeholders, project timeline, design process, and the successful opening/conversion/renovation of the hotel project. As the point of contact between Owners, and internal and external partners, you are a conduit of information, collaborator, and facilitator between Hilton and Ownership. 

You will cover the Asia Pacific region excluding Greater China & Mongolia (GCM) and be responsible for focus-service, full-service, and lifestyle hotel projects across all Hilton brands.

What will I be doing? 

As the Manager, Projects & Design - Asia Pacific excluding China, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Project Management

  • Provide technical services and guide all elements of the planning and design phase of the project.
  • Support the Owner’s project timelines and construction progress to ensure a seamless hotel handover.
  • Provide mentorship for the implementation of brand standards and any recommendations for meeting brand standards.
  • Oversee construction activities.
  • Report to Owners, Stakeholders, and Senior Director on findings, key dates, solving project risks that will affect the hotel's success and opening, and conditional and final approvals.
  • Improve the final product and preparation of waiver requests.
  • Assist in the solving of design problems as they arise in concert with Owners, Architects, Consultants, and Hilton Stakeholders.
  • Implement effective and efficient strategies to best suit the organization.
  • Plan meetings, agendas, site visits, and program deliverables optimally engaging/disengaging all parties promptly allowing for accurate preparation and planning for the attendees.
  • Plan meetings and travel in consideration of other Stakeholders and attendees' travel times and travel expense agreements for several trips.

Design & Development Support

  • Review and approval of architectural planning, interior design, and FF&E designs, in consultation with the Senior Director, to ensure they meet Brand standards and Brand equity. 
  • Provide technical assistance to the Development team before application to facilitate project approval.
  • Contribute to country-specific addenda to global Brand standards for all Hilton brands.

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in hospitality design roles and project management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, written, and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to lead change, resolve issues, and ensure collaboration within teams and/or units; including maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity.
  • Ability to evaluate and find opportunities from a strategic perspective, develop, prioritize, and implement plans to meet the organization’s core strategic goals.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office products. Understanding of the principles and practical application of the software.
  • Ability to accurately estimate project duration and pre-empt potential pitfalls based on experience, scheduling analysis, and interaction with other stakeholders and ownership teams.
  • Ability to assimilate new concepts and practices into the position and the department. To provide subordinates with effective on-the-job training, policies and procedures, departmental training topics, and professional development.
  • Financial management and leadership skills, including the ability to monitor expenses against commitments, set priorities for funding, and develop annual financial goals.
  • Ability to travel when required.
