The Transport & Operations team is a crucial team at Grab Myanmar: it is responsible for the growth of the Transport business, and for the growth and efficient utilisation of our supply. We make an impact by enabling more earning opportunities for tens of thousands of driver- and delivery-partners in Myanmar. The Transport & Operations team is made up of over 30 Grabbers. Get to know the role 

This role reports to the Myanmar Head of Operations and is responsible for leading all key projects in Transport business and platform operations matters for all cities in Myanmar. You will be responsible for key projects that optimise the Transport marketplace, Food supply, general operations processes, and driver acquisition. The role entails four key components:

  • Strategic planning for Transport and Delivery supply reliability
  • Analyse marketplace trends, provide insights and substantiate hypotheses based on on-ground realities, seasonal changes, and from engagement with taxi driver-partners and delivery biker-partners 
  • Design, plan, and lead the execution of campaigns to improve marketplace health (for instance, fulfilment rates, cancellation rates)
  • Constantly monitor performance of campaigns, and be able to nimbly make recommendations and adjustments 
  • Lead critical, strategic projects for supply improvement as well as internal process optimisation
  • Design, plan, and lead the execution of strategic partnerships, campaigns that impact driver benefits and earnings, engagement campaigns aimed at improving driver loyalty and love to the Grab brand 
  • Design, plan, and lead the execution of any key projects that can improve internal Grabber productivity, reduce human error, and streamline external user experience on the Grab applications 
  • Example of campaigns may include self-serve initiatives for driver partners, acquisition campaigns, and benefit schemes (i.e. loan programs) that may add value to driver partners 
  • Utilising Grab’s tech capabilities to improve marketplace health 
  • Work closely with Grab’s regional tech teams to understand our vast tech capabilities 
  • Identify key problems within the marketplace that should be addressed using tech capabilities 
  • Identify key products that can address these problems and work with the local marketplace team, Grab Support team, and the Deliveries team to utilize these products
  • Once these product features are launched, monitor performance and be able to make recommendations for improvements 
  • Leading, motivating, and developing a large team 
  • This role will handle the following functions: driver acquisition, transport and deliveries planning and project teams, and the products team 
  • Connect with the team on an ongoing basis, and understand their development needs and their career goals 
  • Provide a vision and roadmap for the team on how their tasks can be achieved 
  • Ensure that each team member understand how they fit into the success of the organization and their importance they have to bigger corporate goals 
  • Provide guidance on their day-to-day tasks

The Day-to-Day Activities 

  • Lead a team of project managers to ensure key strategic projects are on track 
  • Monitor and drive the growth of the business, as well as healthy supply reliability and availability each day
  • Should unexpected events occur, you develop contingency plans and adjust your strategy to ensure the team can execute well to maintain satisfy user experience and to meet financial targets 
  • Responsible for the overall performance of the Transport business, the overall marketplace health of Transport and Deliveries businesses, and the smooth execution of on-ground operations 
  • Work closely with the Head of Operations, Country Head, Head of Expansion Region, and other Department Heads 
  • Make an impact by improving the daily earnings of tens of thousands of driver- and delivery-partners in Myanmar, and by providing safe rides to millions of consumers in Myanmar

Qualifications

  • Experience in managing complex projects and digital products
  • Experienced in creating broad-ranging strategies, crafting integrated plans and ensuring their execution
  • Savvy in influencing, pulling support from, and coordinating various stakeholders
  • Strong logical, critical and strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to anticipate various scenarios and prepare contingency plans
  • Ability to think fast and act fast
  • Work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment 
  • Showcase an ability to learn quickly and grasp new concepts 
  • Knowledgeable of digital marketplaces and large-scale operations 
  • You are not satisfied with status-quo and have an urge to constantly improve things
