We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager, Workday and HCM Technology to provide expert project management from initiation through stabilization. The Senior Project Manager, Workday and HCM role reports to DJE’s Shared Services PMO and will be a member of a dynamic, highly motivated, collaborative global team. The role will partner closely with People Team leaders to successfully implement Workday and global HCM initiatives to positively benefit DJE’s employees and further DJE’s business objectives.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 to 10 years’ experience as a project manager, functional lead, or subject matter expert specifically leading projects related to implementing, upgrading, and supporting HCM technologies. Experience with a blend of these roles preferred.
  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience performing formal project management for HR-focused projects: establishing scope, creating project artifacts, developing detailed project and resource plans, independently leading from initiation through closing, managing issues and risks, and establishing and maintaining a proactive and effective communication cadence.
  • Literacy with HR concepts and business processes is a must. Business Analysis or functional experience with a strong understanding of HCM workflows is also a must.
  • Experience with project management for ERP Implementations, specifically Workday, required. Knowledge of the Workday implementation methodology also required. 
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly analyze information, identify gaps, and make informed recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Must be able to both listen and execute, but also professionally and productively challenge assumptions and highlight risks. 
  • Proven indirect leadership skills in a high-performing, fast-paced environment: willingness to both lead and contribute.
  • CAPM, PMP, or other relevant certification / experience.
  • Workday HCM and Project Manager certifications strongly preferred.
  • Experience with industry standard project and product management tools. Smartsheet experience is a plus.
  • Change management experience with an understanding of the role of change management in project management preferred. Prosci experience is a plus.

Responsibilities and Expectations

  • The Senior Project Manager is expected to build a trusted relationship with People Team leadership, IT leadership, and all project stakeholders and team members. The ideal candidate has international experience, understanding the nuance of effectively driving outcomes and building trusted relationships in a global business model. The ideal candidate is also an expert at professionally encouraging movement past roadblocks and inspiring project team members to deliver their best work.
  • Tenacity and the ability to manage effectively across a portfolio of business-critical projects will be required. This role will partner with the People Team to both manage all Workday HCM workstream deliverables, as well as manage Shared Operations projects for the People Operations Team. People Operations Team projects include the global deployment of service delivery on ServiceNow, deployment of a People Team global portal, and other foundational projects to further the ambitions of a unified, global People Operations model.
  • This role will perform expert and effective project management for HCM technologies and processes, while coordinating efforts with program leadership, implementation partners, and other project workstreams. Effective project management includes developing and maintaining project plans, identifying and managing risks, managing resource allocations and reporting on resource allocation issues, coordinating with technical teams and the technical PM, and assisting program management with keeping projects on time, in scope, and within budget.
  • To effectively project manage the Workday HCM implementation workstream, this role must understand the Workday deployment approach, HCM workflows and processes, and the impact of HCM design decisions. As a Senior Project Manager, this role must ensure that those impacts are effectively communicated to HCM project leadership, other workstreams, and program management. It is also expected to account for these decisions in testing, conversion, integration, and deployment planning.
  • Effectively taking notes, documenting decisions, outcomes, and risks are a paramount for succeeding in this role. This Senior Project Manager will participate in requirements gathering and design sessions as well as workstream meetings and other associated project meetings and be expected to proactively follow up on outcomes.
  • Leveraging the Shared Operations PMO framework and toolkit, the Senior Project Manager will define and manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, risks, issues, and deliverables. They will also monitor and report on project progress, status, and performance. DJE leverages Smartsheet as its primary project management toolset.
  • This role is expected to evangelize the value of effective project management by mentoring and guiding team members on use of the PMO toolkit and processes. This role is also expected to further the maturity of the PMO by identifying necessary process improvement and bringing to bear their experience.
