Team Lead, Technology, Project Management, Corporate Banking; Lead Architecture - SRE - (WD63212)

Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In Group T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.

Job Purpose

As the Site Reliability Engineering Lead, your responsibilities will include ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our systems. You will drive the implementation of SRE practices and architectural strategies. Your expertise in SRE and architecture will be crucial in shaping the technical direction of our organization and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the adoption of SRE principles and SDLC across the bank.
  • Lead architectural design discussions and reviews, ensuring that solutions are scalable, reliable, and aligned with best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and design solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate software builds, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Define and implement a comprehensive observability strategy encompassing monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting across our systems and services.
  • Design and implement monitoring solutions to track key performance indicators, system metrics, and application health.
  • Improve system logging and benchmarking to fine tune application infrastructure and gain better insight into system issues and performance.

Job Duties & responsibilities 

  • Lead capacity planning exercises to forecast resource requirements and ensure adequate scalability to support business growth.
  • Implement and manage automated testing frameworks and tools to ensure high software quality throughout SDLC.
  • Document architectural patterns, observability best practices, and SRE methodologies for internal reference and knowledge sharing.
  • Design and development of end-to-end technical solutions, aligning seamlessly with business objectives and meticulously considering both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Creating architectures and designs for new solutions around existing and new problem spaces; functioned as Lead Architect taking solution ownership and stimulate design to completion.
  • Drive conceptual and logical architecture design for new initiatives.
  • Develop standards, patterns, best practices for reuse and acceleration.
  • Formulate comprehensive architectural designs and technical specifications for systems, applications, and infrastructure components, with a focus on scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
  • Participate in cross-functional, cross-discipline architecture teams to enhance / set the architectural direction for key business initiatives

Required Experience & Technical Competency

  • Experience in architectural design and review, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Strong expertise in observability concepts and tools such as App Dynamics, Grafana, ELK stack, etc.
  • Experience with chaos engineering tools and frameworks such as Chaos Monkey or custom chaos scripts.
  • Hands-on experience with any cloud platforms and container orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes).
  • Data management/processing/governance tools experience.
  • Awareness of Agile Frameworks and JIRA
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and drive technical initiatives across teams.

Education / Preferred Qualifications 

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field

Technical Competencies 

  • Proven experience in software development roles with proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, etc.
  • Proven experience in a DevOps role with hands-on experience in CI/CD, automation, and cloud technologies.
  • Strong expertise in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD

Work Relationship 

  • All business units in India for application feature enhancement, support & maintenance
  • Internally with all IT heads, Leaders & members
  • International/local software developers/vendors.
  • Co-ordination with on-shore team to resolving the issue on-highest priority
