Who You'll Work With

You will be based in our Cairo office as part of our Middle East Office HR team. Our Middle East office comprises of 8 locations that includes more than 1000 consulting and non-consulting colleagues. You will also be part of the broader HR team in the Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

You will work collaboratively with the leadership of other functions in the Middle East office as well as other firm functions including people legal, immigration legal, payroll, talent management, recruiting and professional development. You will report to the manager of human resources.

What You'll Do

You will coordinate key HR elements across the lifecycle for colleagues in Cairo, Doha, Karachi, Kuwait and Bahrain. 

In this role, you will have ownership or act as backup for key HR processes and functions. You will deliver exceptional support to our colleagues while ensuring the firm is in compliance with all legal requirements. Some of the processes you will be responsible for include supporting new hire orientation, HR benefits and employee engagement initiatives, as well as handling employee queries and employee relations. 

In addition, you will play a front-line role in answering HR questions, escalating issues as needed, completing regular audits and analysis, and acting as a trusted source of information. You will independently manage a variety of efforts which include onboarding (e.g., Day One experience of all new firm members) and offboarding, HR event ownership and administration of programmes as appropriate (role change, rotations, mobility, and alternative programs such as flex and remote working), and communication, ad hoc, weekly and annual personnel analysis and rep letter. You will be accountable for HR standards and data management (bringing an audit mindset and leveraging HR operations support), for coordinating development processes such as evaluation, performance management, and capability building, and for the communication and interpretation of policies and procedures, as well as risk management efforts, that protect the firm and firm members from risk.

You will also actively build expertise in areas such as People Central and other HR systems and may also develop specific expertise in other HR processes across the life cycle, proactively identifying issues and proposing solutions. You will also perform other duty of care programmes and HR projects to support office/firm priorities (e.g., Mind Matters, workplace safety, Got a Concern), contributing to efforts beyond immediate scope as needed.

Qualifications

  • University degree preferably in HR or related field
  • 4+ years of general HR experience
  • Knowledge of HR/people systems (e.g., People Central)
  • Understanding of local labor considerations
  • Ability to navigate the life cycle of events for colleagues, employee relations
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to manage ambiguity with an open mind and positive attitude
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to interact with a diverse range of people in a fair and consistent manner
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Evidence of sound judgment, professionalism, maturity and trustworthiness
