Who You'll Work With

You will be based in San Jose, Costa Rica and will be part of the Performance Lens team.

Performance Lens for Wealth and Asset Management is a McKinsey Solution that provides fact-based, actionable insights to improve asset managers’ business performance by combining industry-leading data, analytics, and tools with McKinsey’s deep asset and wealth management expertise. 

For over a decade, Performance Lens has built a suite of products and services, grounded in McKinsey’s deep industry expertise, to turn data into insights that reveal growth opportunities and business performance improvements asset managers can act on. We foster innovation driven by analytics, design thinking, mobile, social and other technologies and integrating them into our client work. 

Our solutions complement McKinsey’s traditional client service and are delivered in many ways, including subscriptions, workshops, training programs and project-based engagements. 

We work closely with clients to embed our tools, analytics and expertise, and provide ongoing support to help them build the capabilities they need to revolutionize how decisions are made.

What You'll Do

You will play a key role on our North America Asset Management Survey, driving the data set management, statistical modeling, and analytics behind our market research and benchmarking efforts.

You will also be responsible for integrating data into PowerPoint reports and online web applications. Additionally, you will leverage strong analytic skills, project management experience, and strong interpersonal skills. 

In this role, you'll work with McKinsey colleagues from around the world, liaise directly with external clients, and support McKinsey consultants by preparing complex data analysis that will help solve client problems and deliver significant measurable impact.

Qualifications

  • University degree in finance, applied mathematics, engineering, or related fields with an excellent academic record; a master’s degree is a plus 
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience, preferably within financial services or related industries 
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel, Excel VBA, any RDBMS (e.g. MS Access, SQL Server) required; knowledge of Tableau/PowerBI and Python is preferred 
  • Proficiency in automation enhancements (e.g., building & enhancing models, optimizing workflows) 
  • Proficiency with core statistical concepts (e.g., correlation, regressions, confidence intervals, etc.) 
  • Familiarity with Financial Analysis, Business Management, Managerial Reporting, and P&L Accountability is an advantage 
  • Skills to communicate complex ideas in English effectively, both written and verbal; organization and time management skills are a must 
  • Sound problem-solving skills 
  • Proactive professional with proven expertise/ability to work independently and own projects on his/her own & also collaboratively in a team environment 
  • Ability to work with teams across geographic time zones
