JOB SUMMARY:

Under the Manager of Network Services, the Senior Cloud Solutions Architect is responsible for the design, planning, implementation and management of public and private cloud services and other SaaS based systems, including but not limited to Azure, AWS, Google, VMWare, container technologies and orchestration, object-based storage, disaster recovery, and proof-of-concepts related to these technologies. This role will work closely with the Network Infrastructure, Enterprise Systems, and Information Security teams, and will oversee the analysis of new services and technologies and the resolution of problems related to these services in a timely and accurate fashion.

The anticipated pay range for this role is $140,000 - $211,000, which represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Architecting, designing, and implementing cloud-based IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
  • Use of cloud-based services to deploy highly available, scalable, and secure applications. Implement security best practices in our cloud and on-premises IT environments following industry standards and recommendations. 
  • Identifying vulnerabilities, missing patches, and misconfigurations across our cloud and on-premises infrastructure and ensure there is a scalable approach to prioritizing fixes for issues identified.
  • Shares responsibility for overall cloud architecture, as well Disaster Recovery plans and runbooks. Participates in DR planning and testing.
  • Independently handles multiple sets of priorities and projects across offices in different regions.
  • Ensures that solutions are scalable, resilient, and highly available (i.e., suitable sizing of solutions, technology fit, and DR needs are assessed and accounted for).
  • Creates and reviews architecture and solution design documentation, providing guidance and technical leadership to other team members.
  • Enforces adherence to architectural standards and principles, following product-specific security best practices and usability design standards, identifying and mitigating potential technical issues and risks in solutions.
  • Works independently on long-term network enhancement activities and lead teams on network management, monitoring and problem resolution.
  • Maintains a high level of expert hands-on knowledge across multiple platforms and technologies and will act as senior level escalation for problem resolutions.
  • Provides ad hoc peer guidance and leadership through troubleshooting process and project management.
  • Keeps abreast of emerging technology and industry trends.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 10-15 years experience architecting, designing and implementing corporate cloud/on-prem network solutions
  • Must possess strong technical aptitude, analytical and communications skills, and demonstrate great problem-solving abilities.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, Docker, as well as on-prem technologies/systems such as VMware VSphere, NSX and Tanzu, storage area networks, network attached storage, Active Directory, Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 and Linux.
  • Experience with designing, developing, and implementing secure architectures for private and public internet facing systems as well as fault tolerance and scalable systems for the cloud.
  • Strong understanding of networking and internet protocols and distributed, redundant systems.
  • Experience designing and building cloud-based solutions on Microsoft Azure. AWS and GCP are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of Linux based deployments and management. Knowledge of containers and orchestration is a plus.
  • Expertise on the full stack of cloud computing (Compute, Storage, Databases, Messaging, Networking, Security).
  • Cloud native application configurations with focus on least privilege.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge and administration of DNS, DHCP, Azure Active Directory, file and directory permissions.
  • Working knowledge of disaster recovery planning and an understanding of the DR implications of cloud services, server and storage management decisions.
  • Experience working in a multi-office, process driven environment.
  • Knowledge of server operations, directory services, and core network services, including DNS and DHCP, load balancers and firewalls. Monitoring and alerting servers/services for failures, resource consumption and trend reporting.
  • Ability to work closely with senior management to assist with the strategy for IT services, plan and coordinate major infrastructure initiatives and ensure 3rd and 4th level support for same.
  • Strong professional and interpersonal skills required to interact and work productively as a team lead and senior team member, including the ability to prepare written memos and communicate effectively with lawyers, firm personnel at all levels, and outside parties through personal meetings and by telephone/zoom.
  • Must be flexible to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities; ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple, detailed tasks; ability to anticipate when help will be needed from others in the department or firm.
  • Ability to be a proactive, self-starter, who understands the details within a much larger context.
  • Must be team-oriented and able to share information, goals and opportunities.
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and carry out multiple related activities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a culturally and educationally diverse environment.
