Purpose and Objective: 

SAP America, Inc. seeks a Services Architecture Expert at our Palo Alto, CA location acts as an advisor to the customer with a broad application, LoB or industry understanding.

Expectations and Tasks: 

Understands the as-is situation and goals of a customer holistically (e.g. industry, LoB), can translate them into an appropriate business-driven IT-roadmap and architecture design based on SAP's offerings and SAP's cloud strategy, with a clear focus on customer success. Operationalizes the customers' business strategies, identifies relevant components, approaches, input, etc. to derive the best possible solution and helping our customers reap the increasingly differentiating benefits of our cloud solutions. Clarifies expectations from various stakeholders, especially in very difficult cases; creates a solution which integrates diverse points of views and serves as a starting point for future SAP business. Collaborates with customers, partners and SAP teams for the best possible implementation. Documents successful approaches, tools etc. and makes them available at SAP internally. Collaborates and co-innovates with the respective development teams. Fully understands and leverages the capabilities of SAPs technology platform(s). Explains and uses various Architectural patterns - e.g. micro-service based architecture, reactive architecture, cloud native etc. Supports sales deals by articulating deployment scope, design, roadmap, and estimates. Designs a to-be architecture for optimal outcome that supports the realization of expected business outcomes. Defines the strategic, conceptual, and organizational scope for the design of the SAP-centric IT landscape, especially when customer requirements are very challenging. 

Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies: 

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field and 7 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation. The company will also accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Work Experience: 

Experience must involve 2 years in the following:

  • S/4 HANA Billing & Revenue Innovation management (BRIM Architecture) and its integration with other S/4 HANA modules;
  • Business Process Modeling, and Blueprinting to lead E2E Requirements Management and translate customer's vision into actionable implementation steps;
  • Industry Solutions for Utilities – Billing & Invoicing, Device management and their integration into Finance and contract accounting;
  • Fit vs. Gap analytical expertise to assess fit of standard solution offering with Business Requirements;
  • S/4 HANA Integrated Business Processes, FIORI technologies and associated data transfer from core system; and
  • Project Management and delivery of projects skills leveraging different methodologies – Waterfall, Agile and Scale Agile Framework.

Travel: Position requires up to 100% domestic and international travel to various and unanticipated client sites. Telecommuting permitted. Position can be based in any U.S. location.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $197,829 to $249,840. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $197,829 - $315,500. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process.
