A Snapshot of Your Day 

As a Software Expert Mechanical Design (MD) Tools Transformers at SIEMENS Energy Transformer (Guangzhou) Co.,Ltd., (SE), you are a major part of our mission “connecting efficient factories”. Within a global and distributed development team, you are responsible to develop software components and to define methods and SW architectural concepts for global mechanical engineering tools. You make sure that we develop and build on the most uniform and standardized components in an agile way, so that we can provide new sustainable engineering software solutions in a timely manner while keeping operational costs to a minimum. With your expertise you will also support non-standard functional requirements from end-customers. Your work contributes to sustainable software development in line with Siemens Energy guidelines such as cyber security, SE IT agile and modern state of the art development standards. Their results lead to the strengthening of Siemens Energy's competitiveness by enabling the engineering in the sites to work more efficiently.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • As a Software Developer MD, you define the guidelines for the development of Transformer software tools, and you actively shape their development.
  • You analyze, rate, and estimate business/user requirements and design solutions in cooperation with the stakeholders and the project team.
  • You handover and maintain software components for in-house operation at the transformer production sites as well as perform user support.
  • You help to improve the development methods and processes in a multi-cultural agile and highly skilled team.
  • You actively collaborate with teams from different departments and sites in an international environment.
  • As part of the future orientated digitalization and tool development team, you contribute to the Siemens Energy transformer business in terms of quality, efficiency, and sustainability.

What You Bring

  • Master’s degree preferably in computer science or other relevant programs like physics, mechanical and/or software engineering
  • Good knowledge of software architecture principles i.e., micro service architecture as well as object-oriented software programming, C# and/or C++ programming language
  • Solid understanding of .net technology stack
  • 3+ years of experience developing desktop applications and controls in WPF framework
  • Understanding of design patterns and SOLID principles
  • Experience with source control systems and branching strategies, preferably GIT workflow
  • Proficient communication skills in English and Chinese are required as well as the willingness to travel internationally.

Nice to have

  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment (Azure DevOps)
  • Knowledge of functional and reactive programming (F#, LanguageExt, ReactiveX)
  • Knowledge of MVVM/S paradigm
  • Experience with developing mechanical software components and applying them to the internal SE user community.
  • Expert knowledge of transformer portfolio, which relates to mechanical design processes and rules as well as related manufacturing technologies
  • Skilled in CAD-designing with Creo 3D and the related Automation capabilities (ProProgram, API, toolkit) as well as basic knowledge in PDMLink (Windchill)
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and Scaled Agile Framework is preferred.

The responsibility of your future department is the development and operation of a global harmonized engineering tool landscape including the necessary infrastructure such as PLM and SAP-Systems.
