Job Description

Blend360 is currently looking for a seasoned Business Systems Analyst to join our team. We are looking for someone who knows how to identify, refine and bring the stakeholders to agreement on requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong tech foundation and be up to date on the latest platforms, tools and technologies. Additionally, as the interface between the client and the solution, you will know how to identify business needs and requirements and be able to craft a cohesive solution and maximize the business value by delivering a future state that meets the needs of all of the stakeholders. You must be able to quickly adapt to a client’s business model and build credibility as their trusted advisor.

  • Determines operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
  • Designs new computer programs by analyzing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications.
  • Improves systems by studying current practices; designing modifications.
  • Recommends controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures.
  • Defines project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements; forming project team; establishing project budget.
  • Monitors project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions.
  • Maintains system protocols by writing and updating procedures.
  • Provides references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation; providing help desk support; training users.
  • Maintains user confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Responsibilites:

  • Approach the project from the perspective of ease of ongoing support
  • Lead developers to follow best practices
  • Contribute to the project technical design and specification document based on project requirements.
  • Participate in project plan creation for all database development tasks
  • Provide timely communication of any issues uncovered, resource challenges, and percent completion as project progresses
  • Review Data Model (Technical Architect is accountable)
  • Responsible for Data Mapping Documentation (May be produced by Technical Architect who is accountable)
  • Contribute to the technical specifications document; specifically defining Customer Data Management and Industry-specific processes (e.g., transaction matching, vehicle ownership, etc.).
  • Participate in design review session(s) with internal build team along with TA who leads.
  • Complete sample data review
  • Prepare Discovery Guidelines and Discovery Questionnaire for customer
  • Prepare customer for Discovery and Project Resource availability
  • Lead Discovery sessions and document strategic, marketing, business and reporting requirements
  • Write the Project Requirements Document (PRD)
  • Replaces Business Requirements Doc, Functional Requirements Specification, & Configuration Guide
  • Write File Interface Agreements
  • Consult/Support Technical Architect on data mapping
  • BA no longer responsible for data mapping
  • Coordinate and review QA test plan and test cases with DBM QA

Qualifications

Required Skills:

Client facing (working at a consulting company)

Experienced with Data Engineering or Data Warehousing a Must

Strong documentation skills using Word and Powerpoint

Some experience with Python or SQL 

5+ years work experience in Test design, data pipeline, Requirements Analysis, Process Flow 

Proven ability to Lead/Manage/Deliver a client project 

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

  • Ability to understand complex requirements and develop a solution that balances competing requirements.
  • Deep analytical skills and the ability to see the connections between layers of business operations.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills to manage issues between customers and developers.

Technical Background

  • Technical background with experience in analytics, data science, database, or development. This is critical to ensure that the solution meets objectives, manage risk, and to communicate with internal and external technical stakeholders.
  • Defining which solutions are beneficial and which are inefficient for a particular business need. 

Communication skills.

  • Experience working with a variety of stakeholders. Stakeholders can range from front-line team members up to the C-Suite, and they include roles within technology, finance, marketing, data science, etc. 
  • Communication skills are essential to ensure that the client, Blend360 team, and any other stakeholders are aligned. There will often be competing requirements/expectations, and the Analyst/Architect must ensure that tradeoffs are clear and all parties are understood. 

Project management

  • Understanding resource requirements
  • Risk assessment
  • Accounting for deadlines and use of given resources
  • Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders
  • Manage competing requirements and expectations

Requires at least 5 years of corporate experience as a Business Systems analyst or Product Owner.
