About this opportunity

Our Vocational Rehabilitation Services team focuses on empowering clients with access to the opportunities and the supports they need to successfully pursue a return-to-work plan aimed at maximizing earnings, supporting claim closure and maximizing employability. As a Job Developer with our Vocational Rehabilitation Services team serving the Calgary area, you will play a meaningful role in leveraging employment sector connections to create return-to-work opportunities for our clients. You will work in partnership with an interdisciplinary team to create and implement return-to-work/return-to-function programming.

Take an inside look at what you’ll do each day:

  • Identify and establish relationships with employers across various industries to understand their hiring needs and preferences.
  • Market job seekers’ skills and qualifications to employers effectively.
  • Educate employers on education equivalency and/or relatable experience.
  • Negotiate On-The-Job Training and Work Experiences.
  • Provide ongoing support to employers to ensure successful job placements.
  • Collaborate with our Vocational Rehabilitation Specialists to coordinate employment placements for job seekers.
  • Attend job fairs, networking events and community meetings to expand employer partnerships and promote job placement services.
  • Participate in workforce development initiatives and community outreach activities to support engagement in our programs.
  • Maintain accurate records of job placements, employers interactions, and job seeker progress.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and funding guidelines related to job placement activities. 

What you need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, social work, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in sales, marketing, or recruitment, preferably in a job placement or workforce development setting.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and establish rapport with employers and job seekers.
  • Knowledge of labor market trends, employment laws, and vocational rehabilitation principles.
  • Proficiency in using computer software and database systems for tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Commitment to promoting equal employment opportunities and supporting individuals with barriers to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
